    Logan,
    3 things:
    1. I love your narrative!
    2. Great photography.
    3. Your driving skills are amazing. Especially when you explain what you are doing and why.

    Hey Logan you should do a TH-cam tutorial on how to set up your suspension and links and how that impacts your truck, just saying.

      Truthfully if I did a video testing it I’d learn as much as the audience did

      Ikr I just put out video talking about it really asking about it.
      Put my Capra into a sporty and with rear link riser felt like I should raise rear link mounting position.
      Tried to find videos on it but not much other than 1:1 stuff which is not that relatable. But really for steeps and sidehills what’s proper or optima!!

      @westdesertwheeler2666 having link separation on both ends makes a huge difference for anti squat, front is not so much important as the rear, but think of it as leverage, the further the links are separated the more leverage you are putting on the chassis, now while making the chassis links less separated you are taking away the anti squat qualities, if you are running up hill anti squat is great cause it will lift the rear suspension any time it has torque going through the rear axle, drag cars explain anti squat way better than crawlers, and it's why cleetus can run 6 seconds all day it's about getting that power to the ground and if that suspension soaks up all the force the wheels are putting down you ain't going now where at least not fast lol

    • @rcarty419
      @rcarty419 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That was my gut feeling so I separated yet kept rear links parallel vs angles down towards chasis because of link riser on axle so raised on chasis thinking when standing on end on steep up hill the links help limit suspensions compression.
      In front in RC think you still want it to flex and twist and with weight also on front there is less space with front biased weight.

    This truck just keeps getting more amazing. The rocks you're on are more like the rocks in socal where I am from. I'm doing a little crawling on the Red Rocks tomorrow. Stay safe

    This build inspired my build. I put a stance chassis with VRD carbon links on my straight axle Phoenix. The rig is so much fun!

    I put a brazin scale pacesetter on my Scx 10 pro and it’s amazing.
    I’m going out tomorrow to my test spot to run my vrd for the first time to see if it will even come close to my Scx .

    Logan thanx for sharing man. That was a great place to test out your chassis/axle swap. Question though, can we get a post run maintenance breakdown? How did the chassis hold up to the rock scrub?...and the straight F10s? Are the OD tranny gears in good shape. Is the underdrive ring & pinion in good shape.

    Do you notice a big difference between servo on axle with fusion vs servo behind axle and stubby. I was gonna build up a vrd carbon and im trying to decide what dirrection i would like to go. Im leaning fusion and 1100 servo on axle but if there is a noticeable upgrade with servo behind axle and outrunner then i would consider going that route. Thanks for all the content

  • @chrish9502

    Brazin chassis a big upgrade over vrd carbon?

  • @henryoak2001
    @henryoak2001 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    How do you think this chassis would do with a VRD setup on portals and a wheelbase stretch to 12.6?

  • @keldonator
    @keldonator 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do your shocks leak oil? If not, do you have a trick to stop them from leaking 😅
    Also, what servo did you use on your VRD carbon build? I'm using a raw 800lp brass with a castle bec and it seems really weak compared to the agfrc A81BHMW I was using with the fusion pro 2300kv built in BEC at 7.4v on top of the axle (which has a rated much lower stall torque).

    I'm just not impressed with 6 degrees skids, I think 12 degrees should be norm anything less just doesn't cut it.
    Your rock trails are awesome, wish we had some trails like it here in the islands.
    Have you tried the new JConcepts Megalithics? Would love to see you drive it.

    I'm sure a dumb question, but how do you get a 4 link straight axle? Take the "portal" housing and put regular knuckles on it?

    • @nicholasstephey8475
      @nicholasstephey8475 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The axle housings are different for f10’s.
      Either you have a portal or a straight

    NOT SCALE!!!! sportsman rig,..... calling it scale is just stupid!

    • @westdesertwheeler2666
      @westdesertwheeler2666  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Well, this isn’t a scale focused build you’re correct. But this is not a sportsman. That would require 2.2” wheels and a 12.5” wheelbase. Why are you leaving comments like this? It’s toy trucks. There’s nothing to be upset about
