Until June of this year I had never seen a 1909 s vdb in person. I'll be 66 in December, been collecting on off since I was 12. , Work, kids etc... would get in the way but I've never completely stopped. On 6/26 there was one at an auction but too expensive for me. 4 days later I picked up two Lincoln books 1909-1940 for $10 each at an estate sale. I didn't look at them too closely as I was really looking at the almost complete buffalo set for $85. I noticed that some of the key dates looked to have filler coins in the slots so didn't think that I would get much out of the Lincoln's. After getting home I discovered a 1909 S vdb, two 1909 S, two 1914 D, two 1922 no D, two 1931 S. Plus a lot of 1930 dates in red MS. I've checked them all out and they are legit. From the books it seems he collected from change during the late 30's til about 43. Two 09 s vdb in one week and now I own one of them! Best collecting week of the decade, maybe even lifetime.
Not confusing but really cool year. Thank you Daniel, I got a 1909 VDB MS 65 red from you. I thought a great buy. Plus, my Morgan and Peace proof otders went through today. A great day.
Daniel, I have a 1909S VDB in NGC AU58 BN, that was the best I could afford at the time. I started collecting Lincoln cents when I was 7 or 8 years old. It took me until I was 65 years old to finish that first book. I'm 68 now. I now have 15 Lincoln cent books only missing 1or2 of the key dates..
It would be great to see you release a video of YOUR (including your shop) highest value sales on coins over the years. I am referring to coins that actually sold not just inventory valued at ____. That could even be released as a countdown over several videos for content purposes if you have several that fit the description.
@@ypcomchic - I just watched the video and was excited to see the video. It gives people some inspiration on finding those big hits themselves one day.
Currently working on a graded set of all the 1909’s Indian and Lincoln with proofs but excluding errors! None will be amazing but I’m working on the best I can afford.
Agree 100%...it is one of my total favorite sleepers and a beautiful design as a bonus - good call !! Not only tough in higher grade - REALLY tough to find from someone that didn't try to clean it...sadness.

I was just happy that my nicest S VDB got a PSA 63. That 67 is fantastic. There were many more BU 1909p vdb saved than the 1909p when new. Collectors hoarded the vdb when they learned that the rest of production will have vdb removed. Not a great amount of either S was saved in quantity.
Okay Daniel. Wait a second. The 1909 VDB without the S, DDO, that looks exactly like Machine Doubling not Double Die!!!! Now I have to get on PCGS and look at this Wheat. I've watched you video many times on the difference between the two.

No you do not understand me, that’s a mistake people make when they see people on the “screen”, they have a false sense of actually knowing that person. You have no idea how many non coin I interest I have and do weekly. I appreciate you caring but you don’t know what you think you do.

Also, dont forget that a "raw" 1909-S VDB is one of those that counterfeiters have faked by attaching an "S" mint mark.

A few years ago I acquired a 1909-S no VDB cent from your online shop. A VG specimen at a decent price. The 09-S VDB is still a few years away. 😉

I'm a fan of the 1909 Indian cent. Problem-free, MS63 and higher examples are scarcer than people think.

Cant't have a 1909 cent collection without the Liberty in a headdress also. Just the second U.S. cent to carry a mint mark and rarer than the first.

I have the 1909 vdb r/b ms 65 I think it is worth 120 it is graded by ngc and in a slab.

It looks like it has an error? Or 2 but I’m not that good of knowing. It does have a light strike on the last T on trust. Just see a faint mark.
