There are some doors that have switches on 'em (with the additional little green light slightly above and to the side) you can manually close them and prevent automatic opening so you can keep the alien from entering. For example those doors in the hospital (patient rooms @ the crisis stabilisation) where you found the keycard. Can't w8 for the next upload 👍🏻😀 Oh and the question about if he can see you while you hide under the bed... I suppose on difficulty hard he can indeed see or sense you while on easy I assume one is pretty safe (@ least that's what I experienced during my 3 playthroughs)

Yes he can see you while under a table or gurney but also he can see the light from objects you hold
