The Messi before there was a Messi. He was a class act and the one player I wish played for United. I wasn’t even upset when he scored against us. Loved him
6:10 - even the opposition fans behind the goal were applauding the goal. One of them already started applauding the moment Zola executed the chip, before it even went in.

Goals and assists wise, Zola's last season with Chelsea was his best. But he wanted to keep his promise to his home club. Left Chelsea when they were on the up to go down to Serie B, and help promote Cagliari back to Serie A. During his last season as a pro, he registered 13 goals and 8 assists. I suppose he knew his own limits but I think if he looks back, Zola will know he retired too early. He seemed to get better with age.
The best premier league overseas player by a country Mile , so much better then maradona who was so overrated again by a country Mile such natural skill a magician
What a silly statement. Actually it is Zola himself who candidly admits that Maradona has transformed him from a good player into a special player. Look at the free kick for example. Long hours spent with Maradona after the end of the official training have paid off big time. When Zola arrived at Napoli he was of course intimidated by the best player in the world and he was surprised to see how keen Maradona was in supporting him. Maradona before leaving Napoli recommended to keep Zola as he was going to be the next Maradona.
@@nicolagianaroli2024 as per my previous message the difference was Zola never cheated he was a genuine player , Maradona cheated and believed he was some sort of god , but of course he was not. As Alex Ferguson said when he was Man Utd manager Zola was such a joy to watch and he did not like it that he played with a smile every time he see he play.
A lot of these goals, especially the Liverpool 97/98 goal would be a penalty in todays game because forwards just throw themselves to the ground instead of showing a bit of skill

Just imagine if he did play for you! Daaaaam!
@@georgetanga6757 yeah, that would’ve been a scary thought. But how could you drop either Yorke or Cole? Easy, by bringing Zola in hahaha

His technique is out of the question but I find it particularly remarkable that he scored quite a few headers for a small guy. Great player
Look for Zola gol in the Cagliari-Juventus match. Not only it's a incredible header, but he's also challenged by a very tall center back.
Top professionals always work on weaknesses. That's why they always look better than they technically should with a particular skill.
A little Italian magician of soccer !!!! 👍❤️

Can't believe Italy national team barely used him.
they had Totti and Del Piero
@@dinomahmutovic3649 and Inzaghi.
italy was STACKED in the 90's and early 00's. Today he would be the best italian player by a country mile.
They had baggio, Inzaghi, vieri, del piero, signori, totti, delvecchio, montella and Enrico Chiesa. And vialli and Mancini
Mancini only scored 4 for italy lol
il giocatore che più si avvicina al talento unico di Baggio
Dopo Del Piero.
al pari Baggio e prima di del piero

Caicedo shouldn't have taken that shirt number. He's slowly ruining the legacy which Zola built in his time

La La Zola💙🥇🏆🏆🏆🌟
The reason i support Chelsea, Zola and Vialli.
Do Dwight Yorke all goals for Manchester United and Robbie Fowler all goals for Liverpool
