      that was my first impression when i first played one (never bought one though) and there is a bit of a learning curve.
      since the strings are loose and made of rubber, they roll when you press them and you cant slide at all or let them roll or the note goes off. they also dont have physical frets and you have to be pretty accurate where you press

      Honestly in a studio context you could probably just double track it and it may take the place of a proper upright. Or you could just double track it with a real one, that'd work too.

    • @katokianimation
      @katokianimation 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sound quality isnt the problem. The stings have to be large to give volume to the low pitches. Bc physics. You can make an acoustic bass guitar or even an acoustic ukulele but it wont be practical bc it will be quiet as hell. And you will need an amp. And if you are using an amp anyway why won't you just use the electric bass?

      @@WillieWeed I actually have played both, although briefly. But you don't need to play them to be able to tell what they sound like. It's just a fact that double basses have more high overtones in their sound. How could they not? This is why the 2 instruments don't sound exactly the same.
