As a rider of 6 years, my advice to all the new riders is, never ever skimp on tyres. Get good quality tyres, unless you ride extremely safe, and have extremely good road sense. If possible, get a bike with ABS. I've had my fair share of cars not checking blindspots or mirrors, or even other motorcyclists, and had to e-brake.
This is very informative, I'm currently taking my 2b right now and having just watched this helps alot. Especially now during covid. It's a hassle but it is what it is. Awesome vid bro!
The video I needed to understand about BBDC.. thank you so much for sharing your experience. Now this motivates even more to get my bike license. Can’t wait to enrol next month.
I'm so glad that I could help you! Please feel free to ask me any questions you may have about BBDC and I will try my best to help you out! ATB for getting your license!
hey man very informative and detailed video you made there. may i know how much should i put aside for my class 2b licence total amount of money estimated?
Hi Ash, like you said that we need to get either our own helmet and gloves. What kind of helmet should we buy ? Can a full face flip up be use ? Thanks
Hey bro - just FYI u should change both front and rear tyre so that u can track exactly at the same time when you should change your tyres once you reached a certain mileage. Changing only one of the tyres can confuse your timing to change another tyre (say your rear tyre).
My bike's COE only lasts for another year so if I don't intend to use the bike after it expires, it's kind of unnecessary to replace both tyres when the rear tyre is perfectly fine to use for another year. But I'll probably change the rear tyre on another day if I do renew my COE. But thanks for the advice!
@@AshQasha ahh now I see where you are coming from! yeah if you renew, u should start to make sure u replace both at once. Stay awesome with your rides and vids!
Hi Ash , Your video is very helpful for me I also trying to get 2B licence in Singapore May I know how to step my process if I got already licence from my country? And I also can ride very well. Totally, I have more than 8 years experiences riding.
Hi man! may I know during the practical session what are the timings till as I plan on taking 2b during ns however on cdc I saw that it closes at 7 and I end work at 6 do u rmb the latest timing for the prac lessons
Hi, I have just registered & enrol through ssdc via online. I don’t know what’s my next step & I’m actually quite lost. Do I book a theory lesson? Or just book an appointment like you mentioned in the earlier part of the video to get like someone to explain the stuff & photo taking?
Nope! Looks like you're misunderstanding how the arrows work here. The arrows signify the need to complete that task before you can proceed on to the next phase. There's no such thing as skipping any lessons. The only possible lessons that you can skip is lesson 1.01 which is only possible if they know you know how to ride a motorbike beforehand. For example, the arrow that leads out from BTT and DTL signify that you have to complete both tasks before you can apply for an e-pdl to head on to Stage 6 onwards. Hope this clears any confusion!
Hi Ash,mind sharing where are those ideal places for chill riding in some of your videos?some places saw like there’s a big river beside the road, like part 12:00 in this video, would love to ride to those places soon, thank in advance (:
As I mentioned in the video, the place I went to was Kranji Dam! There's many places you can go, but I don't really know Singapore too well to know a lot of places. I only know a select few. Some examples are Yishun Dam and Changi Coastal area.
Each practical lesson is basically a test. So if you are able to go through the lesson and show your instructor that you understand the goal of the lesson and you can perform the actions, then you will pass and be able to move on to the next lesson.
i just watched ur vid nice much needed detail!! n also i enrol at ssdc n im at prac 4 but due to some shifting house issue can i peng ssdc n go to bbdc must i restart everything?
Yes you do. I met with this one guy who was in the same class as me while I was taking my practical and he mentioned to me that he came straight from another school (I'm not sure which one) and he had to start from scratch again even though he already know the basics.
I believe that everyone has that in mind after getting their 2B license. It's just about when they want to get it! But yes, I would love to get a class 3 license and also a class 2A/2 license.
I reccomend you take 4 practice for Basic Theory and 2 RTP for Riding Theory because Riding Theory is mostly common sense and Basic Theory is mostly more to remember the signs, route judgement etc. Riding Theory is more to like “What happens if your bike slides to the left?” etc.
Both are common sense if you can understand what the signs mean just based on it's shape and design technically speaking. But yes! For me, I also did 4 BTPs and 5 RTP because I was a bit kiasu during that time but honestly speaking, you could just go with 2 practices for both.
Hii so i must attend BTL 1.01 n 1.02 and RTL 1.01 n 1.02 first before i can book my prac 1.01? And must i take the BTT first before i can book my prac 1.01?
after your BTL and RTL u can book your prac 1.01 already, also book your BTP and RTP followed by BTE and RTP then BTT and RTT while you’re learning your practicals, so you don’t have to waste time completing the theories before you start learning your practicals, just do both theories and practicals at the same time after you go for your BTL and RTL
SP stands for Self-Practice! It means you will be able to ride around the circuit on your own without any instructors for you to just practice and maybe focus on a certain course that you are weaker in! For example, I booked an SP to mainly practice on my Slope because it was my weakest course. You'll only get to book SP after Stage 5.02 if I'm not wrong! Hope this helps! :)
Well, it depends on the slot timings and how soon you're looking to book it. But I can say for sure that motorcycle practical is way easier to get slots to book than car practical. I've heard of people completing their whole practical portion of the 2B course in under a month. But that guy was really determined because he stays at BBDC for the whole day and always look for try-sell slots to book. All the best in your journey of getting your license and hope to see you on the road someday!
Yes! The instructor assigned to teach the lesson is randomized so you will not necessarily get the same instructor twice in a row but you can have a chance of being taught by the same instructor from your previous lessons.
Welp, I did mine before COVID so maybe they changed the rules? Before COVID, I retook my BTE because my BTT was on the next month and it was not within the 14 days limit.
Hi there, congrats on your passing. I would like to ask for advice, Especially when im slowing down, shifting down gear, i find myself braking too harshly at the end( which is applying too much front brake), and neglecting the rear brake. And also resulting me in stopping in gear 2 instead of gear 1( though i did pull in the clutch to prevent stalling), And when that happens i need to kick down gear by switching legs(right to left ), cos supposedly left leg on the ground when stop. Any advice on the sequence of smooth braking?@ Thanks!
For smooth braking, my advice would be to use engine brake and rear brake more. If you are applying too much front brake, make it a habit to only use rear brake sometimes. You will notice that by using rear brake, you will never tip to the right and having to put your right feet down. So what you should do is kick down to the appropriate gear to initiate the engine brake, push down on the rear brake and as you are slowing down, use the front brake to fully stop the bike. Remember to never harshly apply too much braking on both rear and front brake as this will cause you to lose balance. Hope this helps!
@@AshQasha Thanks Ash Qasha! Will try out when in practice. Lastly, may i ask, When im slowing down and shift down to gear 1, should i pull in clutch while braking? Will the brake not be working if im pulling in the clutch. Thanks
