The Acropolis is an ancient citadel located on a high above the city of Athens, Greece. It is one of the most important archaeological sites in the world and a symbol of the glory of ancient Greek civilization.
The Parthenon is one of the most iconic and significant structures of ancient Greece, located on the Acropolis in Athens. It is a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena Parthenos, the patron deity of Athens. The construction of the Parthenon began in 447 BCE during the Golden Age of Athens under the supervision of the renowned architects Ictinus and Callicrates, and the sculptor Phidias was responsible for its magnificent decorative sculptures.
Today, the Parthenon remains a symbol of classical Greek architecture and the glory of ancient Athens. Despite its partially ruined state, it continues to attract millions of visitors from around the world who come to admire its architectural beauty and learn about its rich history and cultural significance.
