      I graduated from Air Force Basic Training in 1976, retired in 2000. Recently retired as an OSHA Inspector, and now having a relaxing time doing chores and watching TH-cam. I will admit y'all look a whole lot better than us. I remember not having to do the obstacle course and KP. It was like how I imagined the Boy Scouts to be, and there was so much good food.

    My daughter and family were there for her son's graduation on 7/9/21, and he was on crutches so he didn't get to march with the platoon. He had broken foot before the Crucible, but didn't know it was broke till he got back. He spent 4 months after graduation in Parris Island. He is now in his MOS in CA. It was a beautiful day, and it was his mom's birthday on top of it all.

Military ain’t for everyone but Ayy if that’s your choice go ahead just remember if the recruiter doesn’t care about you he just wants his 100$ raise off of you. Research FIRST

    They are all happy and joyful now. Being an USMC is not that easy. Courage doesn’t guarantee a live without danger. I served as an Army soldier fighting the Vietnam War in. 1977. Though I survived,but half of my Army mates died or suffered permeant injuries. I just want to wish you and your family don’t get mails or knocking on the door by a chaplain to tell you the bad news. May god bless you.

      First of all congrats to your son and your family !
      Our Airbnb was about 15 minutes away , on family day I do recommend getting there early because the Moto run that they have starts at 7 AM . If I’m not mistaken we were at the gate by 6 am and there were already tamiles lined up on side of street !
      They let about 15/20 cars in at a time I think and they will let you know what to do ( turn engine off , leave all doors open) then you step under a tent for a quick brief and that’s it ! Pretty quick

    Hi my husband is in Boot Camp right now at Parris Island he just left a few days ago he graduates in July I have a few questions with graduation and with certain things throughout Boot Camp… graduation looks to be a two day thing if I saw it correct?… How soon will I be able to send letters?… Is there any times that spouses get to talk on the phone together at all?… I heard some thing about sending care packages is that allowed?… I have a few more but I’ll just leave it like that for now 🙂thank you

      When he writes to you then you will have his address, no you donr get to talk with him like some other branches that get weekenf passes and yes packages are allowed for certain items. This was how it was for us, may have changed now but not certain on that. Best wishes to him!

      Hey !
      Congrats to your husband and to you for being a supportive wife ! It’s not easy being away but deff worth it . Family day will always be On a Thursday and graduation on Friday! They do have a behind the scenes and something else on Wednesday but it is not guaranteed that you will see your husband !
      Personally I only attended family day and graduation. When it comes to letters this is how it was for me : some time during his first week of being a Parris Island I received a text saying that my husband “approved/allowed” to send letters through a app called Sandboxx ! You can also send through the mail but I believe it takes longer . The first two weeks they are busy doing paperwork physicals so you probably won’t receive a letter from them right away !
      You will not be allowed to talk on the phone with them the only time and it can depend will be after they do the crucible !
      Your husband will let you know what he needs and what is allowed . I was able to send my husband socks , Bible, pens ,paper and some thing extra but do not send any food!

      @talithauccello8316 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There could be a possibility but nothing is really guaranteed unfortunately!
      With the military you can be told you’ll get a call or something else and then not happen . When I received the first letter from my husband he asked about our bank information and I wrote him back with what he needed
