  • The Miracles of Chess! How can a young child learn personal objective critical thinking and planning skills for life's challenges? Chess teaches these original thinking skills and life lessons not part of a standard school curriculum.
    David Aldi is a professional scholastic chess instructor and coach who primarily works with elementary school children grades K-5. He is also a former president of the Greater Hartford Chess Club and is ranked in the top 10% of chess players nationally. When he's not involved with chess, he plays the guitar, gardens, and cooks, among other things. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from UConn and have 20 years of experience working in corporate hi-tech.

    This is the man that taught me how to play chess and take everything in life logistically and in calculation. What can I say besides that he *literally* crafted and shaped my entire life as a kid. Big Smile :)

      Yes No Stress Chess is great way to learn! My kids started that way. Actually my younger one didnt even need it after watching my older one learn the way the pieces move. Magnus Chess App is amazing also.

    Lost me on the video gamer part in the beginning, there are so many games that require strategy, ability to predict diffident outcomes and make the most efficient decision etc. I'm not taking away anything from the dude, but seems to me that he's an old timer not being to adapt to the new age

      I think it's best to ignore people's opinions on things that they don't know much about. I may care about the way he thinks about chess, but like Roger Ebert stating that games can never be art, I don't care about his thoughts about video games.
