Make it easier with SETUP/UPDATE FW. It works fine and you don't need to have only the firmware alone in the flash drive. Mine have all the FW since the 4.00 for an easy backup in case of issue.

This new firmware is great with some new features like: 1 to 1 routing (new USER Bank) so you are not forced (but still ccan) route in groups of 8 channels, New GUI for a nicer view on the board's screen, DCA Spills which helps adjusting levels on channels in a DCA group, new FX's, etc. BE SURE TO BACK-UP YOUR SCENES PRIOR TO UPDATING!!!!

And depending what version of software you have already you can update it With the board on and just select update firmware
On the website you can just click as you can see on the top of your page it says downloads

If my console is several firmware updates behind do I need to install each one or can I go directly to the most recent one?
do I strace saved scenes when updating? and whether I will be able to load them on a newer version
If I do the Firmware update will it change my set up or delete my save scenes?
Was that flash drive USB 3 or 2? Mine didn't see my drive the other day but I haven't tried again yet.
I think I use a USB 2.0 stick. If the update file isn't the only thing on the flash drive or if it's inside of a file that might create a problem.
QUESTION: AFTER UPDATING TO 4.06, WHERE DO YOU FIND THE SAFE SHUTDOWN FEATURE TO POWER DOWN SAFELY THE X32 ?

There's always a chance of that I would say, I wouldn't take the risk. Just save all your settings on another flash drive.

The firmware updates that behringer issues. Usually to bug fix or integrate new feature. They usually take the time to update the UI as well.
