    I’ve saved so much money by doing proper shopping lists and meal planning. Our food bill was huge and there’s only 2 of us now the children have left home but it’s much more controlled now that I sit down and work it all out for the week. I start with the meal plan first before the shopping list, otherwise I find I end up being more wasteful or don’t get a vital ingredient for a dish.

      That’s a great idea. Often I do that too, but wanted to make sure I could get the food items under budget first. I knew in my head what I was going to make which helped ☺️🥰

    Great planning and use of ingredients Sam , I do similar , I do include some fish as I like it , I know it is quite expensive but I buy it from reduced section when I see it as it has important nutrients like omega 3 etc x

    • @TheBudgetMumUK
      @TheBudgetMumUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks Gillian. I usually save money buying from the reduced section too - it’s so cost effective, isn’t it? 😊

    Well done to you hope you can find some nice new recipes or additions to mix it up for the future. For example thin sliced potatoes on top of the chicken with leeks. Or buy eggs so you can have pancakes for breakfast or make a Yorkshire pudding. Just so people get variation week to week.

      @TheBudgetMumUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rachel, thanks so much for the ideas. They’re great 😃
      I agree with the pancakes. I almost included those this time as we have them loads. I think people forget about them but they’re so cheap and easy and fun to make 🤩

    Stopped watching it the minute you used the word 'guys '.I thought it was an English video and if you were a teacher then you know the word is American. Just why you English people have to use it is a mystery

    • @TheBudgetMumUK
      @TheBudgetMumUK  2 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      Hi Janette, thanks so much for your comment. In the U.K. ‘guys’ is a colloquial word used for the general reference to both male and female or gender neutral. It’s seen as informal, friendly and inoffensive here, so perfect for use in this casual, laid-back video regardless of education or career. Hope that helps and thanks for stopping by ☺️

    • @janetterobinson7778
      @janetterobinson7778 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to live in England and never used that word it's only been incorporated in the last few years because American companies are taking over English ones.
      I just hope I'm not referred to a guy when I visit England. In America it was guy's and dolls in the 50's
      My ex sister in law form England is married to an American and lives there

      Wow so rude.

    • @monikag9081
      @monikag9081 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      @@janetterobinson7778 you obviously don't understand English culture. "Guys" is very commonly used in a variety of settings and across society and definitely doesn't imply only "male". When it was introduced into a language is totally irrelevant, language evolves.

      FFS there's all this death and destruction and in the world and you're worried about using the word 'guys'.
