Agree. Riding solo allows the rider to thoroughly enjoy ALL the beautiful aspects of riding a motorcycle...independence, focus, alone time, risk management, freedom from 'herd-mentality and conformity', the peace and solitude of being one with your machine, stopping when/where/for how long as you see fit without having to consult others. There are very few activities that provide all of the above. Riding solo = a true act of freedom.
Greetings from the UK. Triumph rider. I've been riding solo for the past year, and I really, really enjoy it. Just the open road, your thoughts, your motorbike, and not having to worry about anyone around you. Taking the scenery, stopping wherever you want to view the landmarks, and many more... I'm prepping up for the NC500, which is the northern part of Scotland. I can't wait! Thanks so much for your channel. I've subscribed!
I like riding alone because i cruise at a pace. I pound my miles to get to my destination. Some of my friends speed up and slow down over and over again. I can run thru a tank of gas before i have to stop. My bike just made 3 years old and i already have 45,000 miles. About 42,000 riding solo.
Solo riding for me gives me peace and calm, just me and my thoughts besides the ones I share with you guys. Ride the speeds I like just get lost in the moment, if you really love riding it’s like riding into another world and leaving all the crap behind for a while
💯💯, I finally joined a club a couple of years ago..sometimes I get tired of the dynamics ..riding solo is my ZEN..just my music and my thoughts!! Ride safe sis !!
Great video, one of the main reasons I got my bike was to make my solo commutes better, like back and forth to work or out to the store. So I mainly view it as a solo activity.
I haven’t graduated to solo riding. However, I do realize the more people you ride with the more you have to consider and that alone can add to stress levels. I do enjoy riding with other people because I like to learn from others.
Shout out to the helmet, I love the helmet now…. That made me smile lol and chuckle a bit. I was like you when I first started. Gotta hop on that thing when I want to release my stress… Exactly like you my first 2 years. The one thing I maintained is if I don’t like a motorcycle or just the way I used to look at it changes because of something like an accident that I had to fix it, or a major engine repair that made me questioned its durability and value, then I sell it to get a different one and have that feeling of loving my bike again. Otherwise I do not ride as much as I used to based on me hoping on and gets the tingles. Now when I hop on, nothing is excited other than the fact that I know I have the best equipment and a well maintained motorcycle that’s reliable and dependable. Like say if I decided to do that trip to your location, the only excitement I would have is when I reach you. Otherwise everything about that trip would be something I normally do everyday and within my expectations. Nothing really excited lol. Same way I am when I drive my car.
You smiled AND chuckled 🤭 that’s amazing 😆 I feel you on getting a different motorcycle if the current one is too much of a hassle or worrisome. Out with the old, in with the new. It sounds like you need to ride in new territory or with different riders to find some new excitement!
@@HondaHarleyGurl tried that people I ride with aren’t on my level. Example: There’s a guy who I always saw with a Glide where I lived. Back then I didn’t have a Harley. Guy probably was a beginner when he bought his bike so he was taking a few calculated risk ride and being careful which was OK. 2 years Later he finally approached me. Gave me a fake name and exchange numbers and telling me about a group he’s with that rides every weekend and would like to invite me. I’m always tuning my bike when I’m outside such as New Rear Shocks, or Changing headlight, etc. So one day he saw me outside tuning my ride as usual and came to me to go out riding. I accept. He chose slow route and local. His highway merging and the way he was leading automatically tells me he’s new to riding and hasn’t really been driving long distance or even does any. He’s bragging about twisties and that’s how him and his buddies rides. I know for a fact Harleys lean to 42 degrees and he’s pushed it more with his aggressive style. Which I admire when he does and wondering how he does it. But as it turns out he had gotten lucky the day he met me, and he tried that again on his own, let’s just say I never heard of an engine started at 3-6 PM anymore nor do I hear a biker coming back at 9-11 PM after that trip. It’s been over 3 months now since him and I had that ride. Mainly I was judgmental of his attitude because he pushed his 21 Glide way far. Also I found he gave me a fake name when his real profile shows up on Facebook with his phone number. I just shook my head and chuckled. I like to chuckle on many things. Sometimes could be good. Other times bad. But the fact is, I saw he was bragging when he invited me out. I knew he wasn’t an experienced rider and also saw his mistakes on merging with the highways. I myself ride everyday and my routes are always highways. Very few rides like me, calm, subtle and following traffic. Everyone else, panics, makes mistakes and likes to rush.
@@HondaHarleyGurl Harley leans to 42 degrees easily. You can lean more to scrape the floor board like Police does it but that’s a specific style of riding. The seat is modified for that and the shocks are specifically tuned for that kind of riding. Last is you can only do that at low speed. So therefore you cannot scrape a Harley at high speed. If you modified your shocks you probably can lean more than 42 degrees at high speed. I have never pushed my Harley past 42 degrees leaning. To me that’s enough, I’m not looking to impress anyone because if that thing slides while at high speed the momentum and the force of gravity will destroy a lot of thing from that bike. Such as bending the crash bar, destroying the saddle bags and possibly the neck bearing, the front shocks and the front wheel rim. And put a dent on the tank.
@@Mr.FLOYDsinteresting, well at least you accepted the invite and gave it a try. You’re probably right on about him being a beginner and just wilding out on the road. That’s good info about leaning. I’m not into leaning too far.
@@HondaHarleyGurl Every bikes turns the same in highway merging. To approach a ramp is to slow down. The low speed marked on that ramp would make a perfect 42 degrees. Such as 35 to even 45 mph. 42 degrees goes as far as 55mph. But he wanted to make it seemed like it’s the track and his Glide was Litter bike. Starting the ramp at 70 and learning all the way to 50 degrees. I saw him while he started the ramp and I had to keep my eyes on the road. So I couldn’t see after he started and had to worry about my own skills. But the guy gave me a nerve break every time. Unpredictable with sudden change of accelerations.

I love the peace riding alone
Ditto!
