So Far Away kills me. Sometimes I skip it when I'm listening to A7X because it's one of those songs that actually makes me emotional. Especially the ending.
@@aaronbryant7240 me too. i never knew Jimmy in person but he was my idol and one of the drummers i really look up to and motivated me to be a better drummer. i suffered his death like it was my own brother, whenever i hear this song i get emotional and lets not talk about the music video, watching those footage of jimmy and the band its hard. there must be a curse in the industry because every amazing artist that is destine to become a legend always die young, 26 must be a cursed year *laughs and cries in sadness* sorry misspelled "borther"
I like to think of this song as a part 2 to MIA. Like the person in the story was young and broken after the encounter with war in MIA. But in danger line he’s back in it, a seasoned vet, with lines like “I know what you’re thinking I’ve been there before”. But he’s seen enough violence, so when it says “I’m free” he’s finally done with it all and passes on.
@@smokingpiggy5425 oooohhh that’s true! That would make sense. Would be like the soldiers introduction back into the use of guns and combat. Never thought of that.
This song definitely came across well. A lot of people find it sad, but it really ends on a hopeful note. This guy knows what he's done was with good intentions, and he believes in Heaven. That's a very positive thing symbolically, even though he dies. He figures God will look out for his daughter. He died content, and that's one of the most reassuring things a person should know. Gunslinger will be a great next choice, obviously. Then I'd recommend one of the crazy epics like Strength of the World or The Wicked End from City of Evil for contrast. You'll hear the energy at 1000% on those, and the storytelling in them is fantastic.
I don't think you could be more wrong dude. The man dies alone and confused, in shock that it is now his time and he is simply praying that there is a god because he knows his time has come. It highlights how gross war is and how it can take a father away from his kids, and how it can end so many lives prematurely.
@@dylreg5362, he isn't confused. He expresses exactly what he thinks in the song's narrative. He knows matter of factly that he'd underestimated the possibility that he'd be killed in combat, that he hadn't been faithful to God, and that as he dies, he hopes that there's God. He's very proud of his actions to give his family a safe life, patriotic, defiant, and honorable. He acknowledges that no one had said that life is fair. His expression that he's free is submission to the idea that his life is fulfilled. Would it be a song about how gross war is, he wouldn't express that people who believe that he commits war crimes talk down on things they don't know, describe his colors as never faded, and state that him being taken doesn't mean that his battalion will be taken. Avenged Sevenfold release songs about how members of the armed forces feel in dangerous circumstances and what others mean to them when they do, not songs which make wars out as meaningless and members of the armed forces out as confused. M.I.A., Gunslinger, and Danger Line aren't war commentaries, but character focused stories of their experiences and emotions. We can draw our assumptions of what war is based on what members of the armed forces experience and feel.
Wow cool reaction..I was a big fan of A7X since I was 7 grade on high school and now I'm 27 allready living in city with a dream job allready and i still listen to some of AVANGED song till to this days
The last part of this song is very touching, another song you should react with the war theme is called Gunslinger (my favourite ever among with Danger Line)
Not the LBC version. The first yeah isn't there and ruins the transition. Shadows ducks the high notes in the bridge. It's a great performance, but not an ideal first listen.
This is definitely one of the more insightful reactions I've seen, thank you! I agree that it ends with hope and relief-there's a saying that nobody dies an atheist, we all reach out in the end if we can and this seems an amazing story to illustrate that.
So I just found this channel today and have been binging it haha. Really enjoying it! Y’all seriously should do “so far away.” It’s a direct tribute to their original Drummer “the Rev” who passed away in 2009. Actually the whole nightmare album was written for him. It’s a beautiful song though, probably gonna bring tears. A7X has been my favorite band for 16 years now, so always like to find any new content involving them :)
I gotta say, I've heard this song numerous times and each time, it makes me tear up mainly because I've been there, done that. Except the difference is that I was only married at the time and no little one. Now I keep getting offers for contact work back across the pond but I have a little girl and can't imagine my wife trying to explain to get why her daddy would never come home and why I said "I'll be right back" or "see you soon" but didn't follow through. It's tough AS does a great tribute with these songs, as does FFDP
This song is about our men and women in the military. When he says "I know what you're thinking I've been there before" he's talking about how so many veterans take their own lives because of the things they've seen during their tours
This is amazing, screen shot this shit, 246 positives without any negative reviews. This might be a record on YT given that the trolls and haters are usually the first to make their presence known.
You MUST listen to Exist by Avenged. Its all about the creation of the universe interpreted through music all the way to the rise of humanity on earth. Its an absolute master piece
Wow love Danger Line bcuz of this emotional change in the song ❤️ Next one : Strength of the World A little spoiler rs : it's a Wild west theme Song About a girl.. ( you'll only notice this in the last seconds of the song in a wisper rs) most people don't get this detail ^^
I think that the drums at the end is for the funeral of the fallen soldier, I could visualize the officer folding the flag in the triangle and handing it to the daughter as the camera pans out and fades to black, as the whistle fades away
Actually the soldier died at the end because he said that "Tell my baby girl that its alright, ive sung a last song today" and then he said "Im free" which means that he is dead
Yeah they got that, they just said they didnt get sad because it seemed like the soldier felt relief when he died, that he was free from the hell that is war
Advice for Live in the LBC reactions before people jump the gun: 1. Critical Acclaim and Second Heartbeat cut out half of the lyrics, and the most significant sections are missing. Gunslinger has momentum drops because Shadows didn't go for certain vocal lines. Beast and the Harlot only has 3 vocal harmonies compared to the 5 Shadows did by himself on City of Evil. Scream isn't as strong on the verses because Zacky's voice doesn't have the roundness of Shadows', and pitch-correction is really prominent on Shadows' voice in the chorus. 2. There's a lot of post-production and editing. Some of The Rev's backing vocals and Syn and Zacky's bad guitar notes were redone in a studio. It's not as much of a showcase for their live shows as festival streams, where the vocals don't have effects and mistakes aren't clipped out or overdubbed. 3. You'd have to deal with video copyright on top of audio copyright because Live in the LBC is a licensed DVD, so the odds of reactions being taken down are exponentially higher. I recommend reacting to the studio versions first so you'll hear the songs as they're meant to sound, then maybe the LBC versions for comparison. Otherwise, you're going to be interpreting incomplete messages and hearing what are essentially studio-altered performances as opposed to true live perfomances. Fan-shot footage for the same Taste of Chaos 2008 show makes Live in the LBC feel like a lie.
Yes you should do critical acclaim next , the live in lbc is awesome ! You can see how good they really are live , should check out the live in lbc afterlife as well ! The whole live in lbc is awesome!
