    I got some American lotus seeds off ebay. The seller had them pre scratched. Starting to germinate, still need to get a container to grow them in.

    Interesting your system and germination of lotus seeds.
    This summer I gave birth to ten but unfortunately I lost them due to the heat that heated the water, causing the plants to rot. I left the seeds whole without removing the outer part and they all hatched.
    Happy New Year my friend.

      Oh wow so you were experimenting too. We learn as we go, I killed many seedlings in my day that’s for sure 😆

    • @MarcoIsidori
      @MarcoIsidori 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@northeasthardytropicals541 I have read a lot about how to hatch them unfortunately last summer was hot and the water containers reached high temperatures for the lotus flowers. I read that in China they gave birth to seeds found in some graves dating back a thousand years.

    I had no idea how difficult it was. I have always wanted to try to grow them.
    BTW where is your snow.. it's bitterly cold here and have a tonne of snow.

      Haha it’s the first video I cursed which is surprising, I have a foul mouth lol. It’s been cold here this winter so far but not a ton of snow. I hate both either way, I’m ready for siding 😆

    This is very similar to how I germinate my canna lily plants. Good that you left in the parts where you struggle a little with the slippery seeds. I have the same experience 😀

    Great experiment! That is an awesome germination rate. If you did not cut the seed at all, would that have germinated?

      @@BodarkMan I planted them carefully in the mud not too far down. It makes sense to make sure the outdoor conditions are similar.

      Im going to see how long the seeds take with out any hell from my knife. I imagine it takes a while to soak through the shell.
