Yeah, the phone thing used to happen. Especially from payphones for some reason. If you left your line open then it still blocked the recipient from getting calls even if they hung up.
Re phones: Can only speak for the UK but yes, if you phoned someone and they answered, then they hung up the phone but you didn't, when they lifted the receiver again you'd still be connected. I remember doing this in the late 70s/early 80s to surprise people. I think it's something that went away when they switched from mechanical pulse dialling to the tone based system. Put's a different interpretation on all those scenes of couples talking on the phone going 'you hang up...no, you hang up first!' Maybe one of them was genuinely pleading for the other to hang up so they could make another call!
I’ve always felt like this gem lacked one key ingredient: 80’s Gary Busey. That said, I think having 80’s Busey and 80’s Hopper in the same film would create a rift in the space-time continuum.
They will never be able to top the Texas chainsaw massacre of the 70s. That’s one of the greatest horror movies ever made. ❤️😃👍 Great video! Dennis Hopper was in that???
I always gave Texas 2 a free pass! Yes it's beyond cheese and it definitely doesn't have that part one vibe... but it's got Chop Top and a few other cool things... It's like watching Basket Case 2. Yes it's incredibly pointless to the story overall but still, that awesome 80s cheese vibe!
How is this close to PG when it's gory as hell the gore alone would've still gave it an R if the first one didn't get PG because of it's raw nature then 2 definitely wouldn't have because of how gory it was!
Hooper was fresh out of rehab. He wasn’t getting a lot of offers because of his well known erratic behavior on film sets and being difficult to work with. Hansen was offered the role but thought he was worth much more so turned down the offer. Thus costing him even more in the long run. Bill Mosley got the role because he made the vhs short about a Texas massacre hair salon. The movie is it’s own stand alone fresh take. Those of us that seen it when released loved it. Loved the over the top performances.
I never watched the sequel (something we shall have to remedy), but that scene with Dennis Hopper comparing the feel of a chainsaw in each hand could be the movie. He just goes nuts and starts cutting people up. And using his "inhaler" from Blue Velvet, of course. 🤣🤣👌👌
Texas Battle Land sounds like where I wanted relatives to take me when I lived there. So were the Nerd's Michael Myers and Jason inner monologues also in the Illinois and New Jersey dialects? I can't pick it up from those states.
I didn't think the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre was all that great. It was respectful because they were working on a shoestring budget without a real script. But after that first not that great movie it's just downhill. Swiftly downhill.
This movie is beyond cheese but it's well forgiving! You can't hate a movie with Mosely playing Chop Top! It's mother fucking Chop Top!! Texas Chainsaw 2 gets a pass!
Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 definitely has a different style than the original. Do you prefer this movie or the first Texas Chainsaw Massacre?
Definitely, the first was better by miles.
First one. This looks like an over the top 80s sequel that lost all the scary aspects of the original. Great breakdown sir!
First was better. This one is more goofy and doesn’t take itself as seriously, which is fun, but not as classic.
First one by far. 🥰
The minimal violence and sickly bright lighting of the original for me good sir.

That worked with what was called party lines in rural areas when I was younger.
Was the same upto the mid 90s here in Aus
I remember that in the mid 80’s in the US. That if both parties didn’t hang up you wouldn’t be disconnected from each other
Leatherface sounds suspiciously like Matthew McConaughey
Yes! My Friday just got a hell of a lot better! My favorite TH-camr!
Leatherface's poem! 😆😆😆👌So funny. He's so smooth, and sweet.

It's cheese but definitely a gem!! No horror fan can hate Chop Top!!
Discount Tom Cruise and his friend was annoying AF.... Leather Face done the world a favour 🤣🤣
It's like a late Christmas miracle

Bill Mosley stole the WHOLE movie! 😎👍4:29
Tone wise, this is closer to the PG rating Hooper was chasing in the original. All they needed to do was replace Hopper with a cheeky Fred Savage.

Tobe Hooper had the same instinct as Joe Dante did with Gremlins 2: if you have to make a sequel, make it a spoof.
WFMU plays a lot more weirder stuff than audio of chainsaw murders I tells ya!
In my opinion The Texas chainsaw massacre is an Underrated squeal and is the last good Texas chainsaw massacre movie.
You and Mr Ballen are my favorite TH-camrs

The sad thing is I have written much much worse poetry than Leatherface for girls I liked.
I saw it in the theater. Nice job on the review.
BEST of the series! 😎👍
Hell Yeah another Nerd Video.
"Lefty Enright"... the perfect name for a Texas police officer lol

Yes it was a thing! I had a stalker type do that to me... you could not hang up as they would still be there when you lifted the reciever again.
For anyone who hasn't seen them, these movies only get worse from here. Thankfully we have nerd to make them enjoyable.
All that & a bag of chips!
I can't believe this movie was banned in Australia for like 20 something years 😂
Probably explains why I never knew this movie existed until mid 2000s. Lol
Probably just because it was so bad. Nothing to do with gore or anything lol
@@AWF1000 i watched Texas chainsaw massacre first last year
I love this sequel it's my favorite of the franchise!
Now the movies... uh... take a little bit of a dive. I am engaging in understatement for comedic effect.
you should do Judge Dredd
And L.G. died doing what he loved. Spitting in his place of business 😂
Yeeeaaaaaahhhh, booooyyyyeeeee!!!!
Do the Warriors!!!
I love it
Neato
DOG WILL HUNT!!💀💀🪦
I just watched your summary of Texas chainsaw massacre and I'm sorry....what?
It drives me crazy that this guy doesn't have 100k subscribers. Best shit there is.
No stabil needed for that old chainsaw

I like this video though
