I really liked Shogun even in his last fight. The way he got to his feet after already being hurt and being pummeled by Jones was really amazing. I wonder if he was 100%, maybe he could beat Jones in a rematch. I'd like to see that rematch, but I probably wouldn't be betting on him.
I really think shogun is going to get another tittle shot soon, Jones is going to be Shogun's toughest fighter he's ever faced, if he can get close to him he can knock him out. This time he'll have more time to train too.
I would love to see Anderson Silva VS Jon "Bones" Jones Bones has a 2 inch height advantage and obvious weight advantage, but it'd still be a great crazy fight
Not to take anything away from Jones because he is talented but, Shogun was coming off of a very long lay off and didn't look like the Shogun I've grown to love. I expect him to come back strong and make a run for the belt. Whether he'll get it, who know but I know he'll put on some exciting fights.
He would have looked a lot better if he didn't get knocked goofy from that first knee. I imagine a second fight would be a lot more interesting. Shogun for life!
I dont ever want to see Shogun fight the way he did with Jones. I am a Shogun fan and that was tough to watch. I am not sure if it was his injuries or conditioning or if he took Jones lightly. I am not making any excuses Shogun got handled. I hope he really looks at what he did wrong and can come back, I feel that he could be champion again with the proper conditioning and training.
true. everyone says guys like fedor are done and old. but you realize fedor is 2 years younger than anderson? shogun = 28. most ufc fighters join the UFC at 28.
@dangelo003 What are you talking about "exposed", he's beat Chuck, he's beat Lyoto, he's beat rampage, he's held the championship belt in two different organizations. What was exposed?
i'm a fan of Jones but i cant see he holding the title for a long time..they saidthe same with Machida and what happen??..i hope Shogun gets a title shot..
hi does anybody know what the name of the song is that starts playing at 1:22 when cordiero comes speaks... ive been tryna find out that song forever! please please please.... thanks in advance!
im pickin Shogun over Forrest. he's fightin in Brazil & lookin to rebound over that brutal lost to Jones & this time he isnt commin back from a year lay off
@bartybaby But I was referencing what he did after the two Edgar losses, when he had to realize he won't be the LW champion again. Shogun has to do that too.
you're 100 % WRONG it's actually really surprising that in your list nobody is a legitimate top 5 heavyweight This is mine : 1. Rashad Evans 2.Jon Jones 3. Shogun 4. Hendo 5. Rampage
@Khonnell Not trying to take credit away from Shogun but Machida got countered. You normally have to be aggressive to be countered. Machida =/= Aggressive normally and only was that 2nd fight cause he was under pressure from the first. However, the overhand counter was not a fluke. Machida over abuse the karate counter straight and Shogun was prepared for it which was even shown in the first fight. Also, Evans and Machida are the best type of fighters against Jon Jones.
@nls8520 my friend met an insider who told him that shogun pretty much stopped training or answering his calls before UFC 128 when he heard they were switching opponents, and has been known to do this before. Take that for what it's worth.
His lost to Forrest was ring rust. He beat Lyoto the 1st fight but got a bullShit loss and cam back to knock him out in the 2nd fight. The Jones fight: he simply got dominated but every champion has lossed.
@eLLriDe420 Actually Anderson did be Sonnen. He did what a champion does and even though he got thrown around he would not give up and in the end it payed off.
@ThaAnswer1203 He isn't yet, he needs to be medically cleared to even have a fight. Even if he becomes healthy again he has to train vigorously to attempt to catch up. I want to see Brock back but all this missed time in must has damaged his standing as a contender. Cheers
@BxRabbit96 And you're also forgetting he's had 4 major knee surgeries. It doesn't matter how old you are, when your body breaks down that's more or less it. I love Shogun but I think he's done!!
@ensemanj Umm, I think Anderson Silva, Rampage Jackson, Shogun Rua, and Minatouro Noguiera all came from Pride and all held titles in the UFC. The Pride fighters have done pretty decent
@thenewgeneration123 when has shogun ever lacked heart just because he got steam rolled in 1 fight where he was rusty as hell doesnt mean he lacks heart it just tells us he has tried but not to the best of his ability . p.s didnt you see machida v shogun 1
@silantbill Well sure it does, they fought alot more and like you said back then the competition wasnt near as good and most fans still look at thier record...Most of the Pride guys are still pretty young...Hughes, Liddell, Couture are much older so its hard to compare...Pride certainly didnt have ALL the competition, they had more depth but the mismatches were ridiculous at times which didnt prove anything but was awesome to watch. UFC and Pride were like 2 different sports aswell.
@NoLifevidkids247 Machida was a fluke? Hardly, Shogun showed an MMA masterclass in that fight. Pure skill. Top 5 LHWs 1. Jon Jones 2. Anderson Silva 3. Shogun 4. Machida 5. Evans.
Jon Jones will hold his belt for a long time. He towered over shogun by a foot and just seemed like the more imposing man. I dont know how he makes the weight, he looks like the biggest fighter at light heavyweight..... But im a big shogun fan too!
@TheXYGene He has fought at LHW and embarrassed Griffin like nobody else, just because he doesn't fight at LHW regularly doesn't mean he's not one of the best LHWs going.
@djmixmac i felt he was rust and his injuries slowed him down. his endurance was ok but he got hit with so many bombs i doubt any one could last after catching all those hits
Rua we love you, but please dont ever fight Jones again. You got hurt so bad last time and it was hard to watch. We dont want to see you like that again Cheers and god speed with you in Rio
@kingpinoy "We"??? Who's "we"? He didn't gas in the Jones fight, he got hurt badly, if you ever fought once you know that once your hurt, a part of your energy is gone. Shogun took a brutal knee at the very beginning of the fight. Before going to work tomorrow, run head first into a wall and you'll see what I mean.
@Celeron525 yeah he has a better shot than Rua considering how well he looked against Tito. Also that Rashad will have insider info on what Jones weaknessses are. However we were saying that Rua had a chance before he got buried Cheers
I thought he was out of shape because he hadn't fully rehab'd his knee after he blew it out again before the Jones Fight. Jon Jones has yet to impress because the Rua in that fight looked awful, not the same as when he beat the shit out of Machida. I'll be impressed when Jones finishes either Rampage, Evans, or Machida in spectacular fashion.
Shogun will rise again.
2 Time UFC Champ by 2012, calling it now.
WAR Shogun! I'll always support him win or lose because he's such an exciting fighter and a humble dude as well.
I really liked Shogun even in his last fight. The way he got to his feet after already being hurt and being pummeled by Jones was really amazing. I wonder if he was 100%, maybe he could beat Jones in a rematch. I'd like to see that rematch, but I probably wouldn't be betting on him.
the first fight with Forrest was epic lets hope the rematch is as good or better
He's my favorite fighter of all time :)
cant wait to see my favorite fighter bang again!! Go Shogun!
can't wait for UFC Rio!
sweeeeeeeeeeet, seeing wandy and shogun training together again
chute boxe brothers till death
I really think shogun is going to get another tittle shot soon, Jones is going to be Shogun's toughest fighter he's ever faced, if he can get close to him he can knock him out. This time he'll have more time to train too.
Awesome video! I am forever a Shogun fan!
I would love to see Anderson Silva VS Jon "Bones" Jones
Bones has a 2 inch height advantage and obvious weight advantage, but it'd still be a great crazy fight
You're right getting your ass beat for 5 rounds doesn't make you a winner, But finishing the fight does.
I love you shogun
Probably the best camps for anyone at and over 185...
@Jonzer1983 Thats Rafael Cordeiro, the long time coach of Shogun and Wanderlei Silva.
I laughed at Mayhem singing happy birthday right at the end.
Training with Mark Munoz for wrestling is what's gonna help him win this fight.
dude wanderlei should always be wearing headgear when he spares
I dont ever want to see Shogun fight the way he did with Jones. I am a Shogun fan and that was tough to watch. I am not sure if it was his injuries or conditioning or if he took Jones lightly. I am not making any excuses Shogun got handled. I hope he really looks at what he did wrong and can come back, I feel that he could be champion again with the proper conditioning and training.
Shogun an Mayhem sparing, pretty fuckin awesome
Every die hard fan of Shogun know what he's able to do and that he can beat Bones Jones
true.
everyone says guys like fedor are done and old.
but you realize fedor is 2 years younger than anderson?
shogun = 28. most ufc fighters join the UFC at 28.
LOL - Doesn't Time Warner own the right to the "Happy Birthday" song, Zuffa will now have to pay a royality to them for having it in their video.
fantastic.
@s90e Benavidez and Hardy can do that to Shogun? Is there any vid of them training together?
Griffin gonna get smoked....that will set up the trilogy!
@dangelo003
What are you talking about "exposed", he's beat Chuck, he's beat Lyoto, he's beat rampage, he's held the championship belt in two different organizations.
I think griffin will do him again
shogun should train with Greg jackson to learn Lay N Pray technique to win
im pickin Shogun over Forrest. he's fightin in Brazil & lookin to rebound over that brutal lost to Jones & this time he isnt commin back from a year lay off
I hope Shogun takes this.
SHOTGUN vs. Forest Griffon...!!!
ReMATCH of the YEAR...!!!
@bartybaby But I was referencing what he did after the two Edgar losses, when he had to realize he won't be the LW champion again. Shogun has to do that too.
you're 100 % WRONG
it's actually really surprising that in your list nobody is a legitimate top 5 heavyweight
This is mine :
1. Rashad Evans
2.Jon Jones
3. Shogun
4. Hendo
5. Rampage
@speedEjonzalez It's "Moar Ghosts 'n' Stuff" by Deadmau5.
Good luck Mauricio, it is time to beat forrest bad!!
@Khonnell Not trying to take credit away from Shogun but Machida got countered. You normally have to be aggressive to be countered. Machida =/= Aggressive normally and only was that 2nd fight cause he was under pressure from the first. However, the overhand counter was not a fluke. The beginning of the music @1:32 sounds like Angel by Massive Attack
@elmatachica well put. he has the potenial of a bullet being shot out of a gun.
1:22.. thumbs up for Daft Punk in the background!!
@nls8520 my friend met an insider who told him that shogun pretty much stopped training or answering his calls before UFC 128 when he heard they were switching opponents, and has been known to do this before. Take that for what it's worth.
Can an "In Shape" "Battle ready" Shogun beat Jon "Bones" Jones?
Half the video Shogun is resting tired after doing a 3min work out.
I'm getting some major 2005 PRIDE MW GP vibes!!!!
ufc paid shogun to take it easy on the brother
whats up with all the close-ups? I don't want to see shoguns nosehair.
His lost to Forrest was ring rust. He beat Lyoto the 1st fight but got a bullShit loss and cam back to knock him out in the 2nd fight. The Jones fight: he simply got dominated but every champion has lossed.
Hopefully he's wrestling with Munoz.
careful there shogun ! don't knock poor wandy out , again
I just hope the real Shogun shows up @ Rio.
I can't handle another Jones episode . :(
WAR Shogun !
Wanderlei is really starting to look his age.
@eLLriDe420 Actually Anderson did be Sonnen. He did what a champion does and even though he got thrown around he would not give up and in the end it payed off.
He should do what Penn did - runaway to another division and never turn back Shogun.
@AndyinMTL lol right on man! much respect to Shogun he's still an amazing fighter!
Is that Mayhem with the Blonde hair?
@ThaAnswer1203 He isn't yet, he needs to be medically cleared to even have a fight. Even if he becomes healthy again he has to train vigorously to attempt to catch up.
I want to see Brock back but all this missed time in must has damaged his standing as a contender.
Cheers
Reading a few of these comments, I'd hate to be a "fan" like some of you claim to be.
The Pride fighters have done pretty decent
forrest will win a decision this time. if possible, shogun should drop a weight class.
@thenewgeneration123 when has shogun ever lacked heart just because he got steam rolled in 1 fight where he was rusty as hell doesnt mean he lacks heart it just tells us he has tried but not to the best of his ability .
p.s didnt you see machida v shogun 1
Current Top 5 Light-Heavyweights in the world.
1. Anderson Silva
2. Jon Jones
3. Rashad
4. Rampage
5. Davis
UFC and Pride were like 2 different sports aswell.
shoguns not getting that belt again
@Dimsonny because he did so well the last time he fought....
Hope they paid the rights to sing Happy Birthday.
@Humanoids Yupp. And he'll do it to many more.
sho guns n machidas unibrow bugg the hell out of me
@NoLifevidkids247 Machida was a fluke? Hardly, Shogun showed an MMA masterclass in that fight. Pure skill.

4. Machida

Seems like folks have forgotten about MACHIDA!!
I like Shogun but what happens when he loses this fight? He wasnt 100% like everyone says everytime he loses?
Wait a minute, was Mayhem there?
Did I see Andy Wang in there?????
Shogun will DESTROY Forrest
Griffin is going to get knocked out this sat.
HAHAHAH

@Sakrich uhhh uhm i believe thiago alves is the best at using kicks in his combos.
Rua we love you, but please dont ever fight Jones again. You got hurt so bad last time and it was hard to watch.
We dont want to see you like that again
Cheers and god speed with you in Rio
if shogun thinks he has a chance to get the title he should just save himself some trouble and retire now
0:16 that my friends is a real champion
@kingpinoy "We"??? Who's "we"?
He didn't gas in the Jones fight, he got hurt badly, if you ever fought once you know that once your hurt, a part of your energy is gone. Shogun took a brutal knee at the very beginning of the fight.
Before going to work tomorrow, run head first into a wall and you'll see what I mean.
i hope hua returns back to form and destroys griffen, not that i have anything against forrest
@Celeron525 yeah he has a better shot than Rua considering how well he looked against Tito. Also that Rashad will have insider info on what Jones weaknessses are.
However we were saying that Rua had a chance before he got buried
Cheers
@adidasteve well for starters its a deadmau5 song just dont know which one or if its a remix
Shogun!
I thought he was out of shape because he hadn't fully rehab'd his knee after he blew it out again before the Jones Fight. Jon Jones has yet to impress because the Rua in that fight looked awful, not the same as when he beat the shit out of Machida. I'll be impressed when Jones finishes either Rampage, Evans, or Machida in spectacular fashion.
mayhem where is his strip of doom gone
