Justin Gatlin is such a inspiration to me because I do track and im in short distace and I want to become the fastest runner. Im facing an obstacle my legs hurt extremely, just like Justin I experienced an obstacle. He inspires me to work through the pain and to get even faster and not let obstacles get in his way. Just like the same thing he did.
He has the same disability as me I've got ADHD and you can't take your medication if you compete because it counts as a drug it's bullshit because some ppl can't cope without medication
Him and Tyson Gay are two of the sprinters I respect the most despite the drug bans. I think what people don't really understand is that for a lot of these athletes, they're not really at fault for doping, its introduced in so many different ways, from massage creams to medicine, a lot of its from the coaches, etc. The list of banned substances is ever growing longer and you have people failing drug tests for the most obscure and unthinkable ways, one coming to mind being Asafa powell and his penis enhancing pills. You have all these coaches saying they got supplements to make you stronger, faster, better and they may even have some trust in the athletic community but then you take the test and suddenly you fail. That's more or less what happened with Tyson Gay, he never said it himself being Tyson Gay and his humble self, but sources close to him and who is supposed to have given him the substances have confirmed similar experiences, being approached by someone who had ties with many NFL players saying he has a "all natural" way of improving athleticism.
After usain bolt justin gatlin is the greatest sprinter ever live, that is pure determination to be ban from a sport a come back so strongly he is arguably the greatest sprinter
All I would say is when you focus on what you really want and never giver up. that is what I did because I knew I had no choice with no Family support. I was called and my calling came in February of last year. the holy Spirit came to me and tears of Joy ran down my face. He chose me because he knew I had been through enough pain which had been caused by others. I forgave them also, I just don't forget.
I never knew what he tested positive for. I just assumed it was anabolics and he was just another dirty sprinter. Watching this, I feel different about it. Sure, Adderal is speed but I wonder if it really helps someone who's been on it for ADHD. Hard to know. Back from his freakishly long ban he still kicking ass. Redemption.
this video is actually really dishonest in its presentation of his suspension. Gatlin received a 6 month ban for ADHD medication while he was in college. His 4 year ban came in 2006 - 2010 and it was for a positive test for anabolics. His coach Trevor Graham has been suspended from the sport for life because so many of his athletes got popped for steroids. again, this video implied that Gatlin was suspended 4 years for ADHD meds - that's not true - he was suspended 4 years for steroids.
When I was a sprinter I’d just go out and sprint a few 100s 200s or 400s sometimes long distance to better my conditioning and for able to sprint at 100% all the time with ease but never did I try other things and I was fast 11.8 100mm and that’s because I never tried doing other things to actually help my speed instead of putting my shoes on and go out to sprint rarely stretched but I’m coming back. The speed will be back.
Not just him. Everyone is on steroids! You can compete at elite level, but you’ll never gonna place on the first 3. I was given great genetics for athleticism, and competed as the highest level as I could, train harder than anyone and beat everyone in school. But when I faced pro athletes, they just smoked me. You need steroids to Compete with. The best! Specially whe it comes to recovering fast to be ready for the next workout. Biologically, the human body can’t recover within 24 hours like these guys do. I know they’ll be people that think otherwise, but I was there once and you just can’t beat these guys they’re on a different level.
I don't think PEDs or steroids are a problem. The athlete is still having to put in the work. An they make the competitions more entertaining. Seems like the real contest in competition is about the technique rather than athletes physical limits these days. Maybe have 2 versions of completion, one being "enhanced completion" and the other "natural/pure bodied completion". But wtf do I know? I'm simply a viewer with an opinion.
