Saw The Woman King twice already and it was fucking AMAZING!!! I don’t give a fuck what people say this movie was VERY enjoyable and you gotta love Sheila Atim as Amenza she was fucking amazing too!!! Had no idea she could sing!! Would definitely see this a third time if I could!!
The amount of People commenting about how the movie was not historically accurate. This is not the history Chanel. If you want to learn about the Dahomey kingdom pick up a book and read. Most anything that comes out of Hollywood is too entertain. This is an Action movie for goodness sake. How do you pack several hundred years of history into a two hour movie and expect it to be accurate. Just enjoy the movie for what it is, an Action movie based on the Dahomey Kindom.
This is the best movie in a very very long time, I've watched it twice and will again. love these characters. 100%!!! I'm still talking about it... it's just that good!!! I've felt so empowered when I watch it..
Based on a true story has never equaled it being completely accurate. The movie was great, reality is grim, every movie doesn't need to be too😒. You want an accurate depiction, read about about it and teach yourself.
@@meljesticlife9622 Wrong. The producers and actors are promoting this movie as "real history" and as "important history about empowered women of color". Yes, all historical movies have some inaccuracies, but there is a range, some are quite good, some are outright lies. In this move, as an example, I am curious to know if you know the real history behind "the woman king"? I will assume you do, I will assume you know these women fought to preserve a king who was know as "the slave king"? He built personal wealth enslaving his fellow Africans and selling them to other Africans, and to Europeans. He fought to preserve his right to continue enslaving Africans. These women fought on his behalf. He tortured and killed people within his own tribe who he considered enemies, these women tortured and killed on his behalf Of all of the stories that could be told about empowering women, and African American women, why did the producers pick this story, then attempt to lie about? Did you know any of this? Now that you, do care enough about the truth to change your mind?
I guess the same reason they didn't discuss historical inaccuracies during the press cycle for 300. Especially the second. Bc who tf cares? It's a movie.

Why no discussion about how historically inaccurate the movie was? I mean, they are laughably off the mark with Truth thing, weird, right?
All Hollywood movies are historically inaccurate it’s just entertainment.(white Egyptians) lol Nonetheless it was a good movie.
