People complaining about the movie obviously havent watched it yet. The slave trade was highlighted multiple times throughout the movie. Also this film is in theaters not the history channel. 99% of the movies in theaters are fictional. Stop complaining and enjoy the movie for what it is.

They claimed it was based on true events. It was not.
In reality, the war itself was fought so they could keep having slaves. That "way of life" the white man was trying to rob these strong powerful queens of was slavery. They thankfully eventually lost and were destroyed in war and stopped capturing and selling slaves.

Hands down one of the best movies, I’ve ever watched. I went through every emotion with them. I was fully engaged with anger, I was fuelled with compassion. I felt the pain, happiness, venerable, sadness, strength and unity. So much emotion to dissect, that you have to watch it 3 or 4 times. I’m definitely going to watch it again. All I kept saying was, I love being a black person. The whole cinema clapped and felt empowered. The whole cast was amazing in their craft. Our people have suffered and overcame a lot and it goes to show the beauty and pain of our people.
