@Michael Oberg It's being called horse dewormer because the dosage and packaging that is easily available at animal supply stores is in fact meant to be commonly used for deworming horses. Plenty of times there is even the image of a horse on the box. If someone is using it to treat ivermectin their diabetes, chances are they have prescription from a doctor who has some idea of what they are doing and they aren't grabbing horse sized doses.
Yeah, you can use ivermectin to treat afflictions other than worms specifically and in animals other than horses, including people.
But the dose you would give a horse would probably kill your dog (yes, ivermectin is used to treat dogs, but not as common as it is for horses). It's the same reason there are medication differences between what you would give a child and an adult. The dosage for ivermectin that is safe to give to a horse is measured in milligrams. Meanwhile the dose a human should take if they have something that Ivermectin actually has been proven to treat is in micrograms. I will assume you're educated enough in the metric system to know that 1 milligram is 1000 micrograms.
As for the media, if you don't want to trust them, that's fine. How about the people who actually produce the stuff and would stand to make a fortune if it was a viable treatment for Covid? They came out and told people not to take it, because there is no evidence it works on that and it is a literal poison if you take too much. Which is to say if you can't accurately measure micrograms, you are likely going to poison yourself.
Though I will say Dogo Pills is a cute name, even if your comparison is off. We are referring to a specific substance called Ivermectin which is being simplified for one of it's common everyday uses as a horse dewormer. Your example is to take a broad category of substances (antibiotics) and relegate the hundreds of different types to a single simplified reference. Had you given a specific name such a Amoxicillin or Penicillin, your comparison might carry water. But even in such cases, the specific dosage and packaging is important. It's why many pet medications will specify size of the pet and may strictly state not to give an antibiotic designed for a cat to a dog or vice versa.
@Michael Oberg We call aspirin painkillers too, but that isn't all it does. Ivermectin is most commonly being used as a deworming agent, th us it's name. It's absolutely not safe for people to go buy it typically labelled as horse dewormer in animal supply stores and then just take it. It's like Hydroxychloroquine all over again.

I've used "Pulp Fiction" as a verb too, but I use it to mean "shoot a myriad of times", like the scene where Vincent and Jules shoot the last guy in the apartment dozens of times. For example, the Rebel soldiers at the beginning of A New Hope? They got Pulp Fictioned.
Still today no other movies can touch that Pulp Fiction scene - that was good but like most ppl I wasnt ready for that at all lol 🤣
The rep getting angry at the doctor after she'd just seen the kid insult him and her for five minutes is the second-most anger inducing moment in Key and Peele sketches.
