I have never been to Jamaica and couple days ago I just woke up with the strong urge to move and live there! And I've been binge watching your videos ever since and been having dreams about me being there. The feeling is Soo strong. I live in the Caribbean on a smaller island and I honestly feel Soo stifled here. Jamaica seems like a happy place and I feel like I will actually feel alive there. Problem is I don't even have anybody there I can go meet and what not. But I'm trusting the universe to provide for me. I wanna manifest moving there soon. I really hope it happens! 😭😩 Im ready for a fresh start.

I believe that you should keep looking. You might just find a nicer place. I personally believe that not only the interior of homes should look stunning but the exterior should also be welcoming. Whichever one you’re comfortable with, go with your heart:)

Because her real goal is to build her own home... So, why dash way ya money on rent when you could save and build your own home sooner... It is the logical thing to do.
It will be hard to find a walk in closet because most people build the closet going straight across. I agree, you’ll have to build and design your own home to get your actual liking.

I was born and raised in Jamaica. My parents brought me to USA when I was 10. I’m 58 and an American citizen. Once all this virus etc clears I’m going to contact the consulate to find out how to return as a citizen. Thank you for these videos!

They might do dual citizenship unless they stopped that. I want both passports and have been looking at TH-cam videos for the info. I would contact the JA Consulate, but probably have to go there because you couldn't get them on the phone before all of this happened smh.
The first one wasn't that bad and TBH, I always replace the showerheads in rentals I've stayed. Annesha, please be sure to check the water pressure (turn on the water and flush the toilets while there), ask who lives in the court or next door, and look in corners for evidence of rodents or bugs. Don't pay so much attention to the person's things left in there. Also ask them questions about average price of utilities per month and things that you wouldn't know just by eye.
I agree that the way they do you when they show the place is the way they will be as a landlord. If house is a mess, they don't volunteer certain details, and someone is still living in the place while they're showing it, there's a problem lol. Trust me, after living in NYC and looking for places in JA, I've learned A LOT! God bless you in your search and I pray you find a safe, beautiful place!

Girl, tell me about it. These "apartments" in New York. I would take any of those houses that she saw over most of the apartments in New York. The apartments here are a sore eye and VERY overpriced. It's fucking crazy.
What's wrong with having the person still living there when they show it too you? That happens all the time to cut down on the gap between renters no?

Girl I like the last place best. I remember when I left college and then got a job and moved in my first apartment it was brand new and very nice. Much nicer than all the three and it is far cheaper than what those people are charging you. Meanwhile, I'm building because you can't pay rent forever. Proud of you girl keep looking.

Gurrrl! Trust me. To find better looking apartments, you're gonna have to search loonng and haad. Pantries and walk-in closets are a new phenomenon in Jamaican architecture, especially for apartments

The second home was ATROCIOUS 🤮 definitely get the 3rd home even though I don’t like the bathrooms. But I recommend you stay at your moms house and you put money into building your house.

The tips on how to start looking for an apartment is VERY helpful.
I was looking for apartments online and I started to get discouraged by the price ( I looked via realtors) but this helps a lot!

Yeah..the cost of living in jamaica coincides with US incomes and not the income of the typical jamaican. I think theyre targeting returning residents mostly cause which average jamaican can afford 1000 US per month!?

Do your research make sure thing is ok.go out often before you . decided lots of things change in Jamaica.follow soflo tv on TH-cam they killing returning residents like sands.and most of it is there own family.some are sometimes other situations but its just a precaution.

I would suggest continuing the search until you find something that you're comfy with especially moving from the quality of your parent's house.

Ppl must not know what Jamaican accommodations are like. These are typical Jamaican homes & the standards are usually just like this... unless you want somewhere upscale. My dad right now living in a place that is drowning in damp & mould because when rain falls the water settles in. This is a 3rd world country folks

Awesome video Annesha. Honestly those apartments don't look too bad i hope you fine something that is okay with you. If you can afford it i would suggest you build a house for yourself and have it design in a way that totally meet all your needs.

The second one is my fav. I hate when there's no tub and they do that tiled thing that's a pseudo-tub. When I come to JA and see that, I kindly decline. Oh, and the currency. So landlords I know, many are U.S-based and have someone look after their place and rent them in JA. The conversion, obviously, is more profitable. Even if they put it in JA dollars, it will equal the equivalent of U.S. dollars in order for them to have a return on investment and make money from renting. And $50,000 per month is A STEAL especially with the view. That's only about $700 U.S. Building a place has its issues as well, including having seedy contractors, losing money due to delays, shipping issues,, production issues etc. I think everyone should just do what they're led to do and what works for you at the time, for your lifestyle and your budget.

You can look for apartments online and also find realtors. Just search for apartments in parish, Jamaica.
Also it is easiest find Apartments in the Kingston and St.Andrew division.

Marsha's Journey I agree with you completely - the houses tend to be beautifully done on the outside but inside is a different story - a lot seem to have no clue about interior design. I just moved back to the US after living in JA temporarily for 3 yrs

They rent in U.s for many reasons, 1 the renter may be American. 2. The renter may cater specifically to international clients and 3. They get more money when they charge in U.s

If you are eating to live in Mandeville, ask where your source of water Spur Tree or Porus is? If Spur Tree, sis, you will hardly have water unless they have a well and a pump to replace the water when it's gone.
