I follow a lot of true crime, and I must say in a qualified way that this is a great show. Tamron Hall is clear and classy. She doesn't fall back on the cheesy, condescending, alliteration ridden commentary that many of these shows use.

I absolutely believe that she ran because she knew that she was being framed. I think that the money men who were involved with her husband’s last deal killed him and paid off whomever in order to nail Margaret. They took off with all the money. I don’t care that anyone disagrees with me. I also thought, for years, that Margaret did it. It wasn’t until 2016, when I stumbled upon some horrible family secrets, that I realized that my entire life had been a lie. My mind exploded and I realized just how many innocent people are put away for crimes committed by others and just how much evil there is in this world. Be careful, because it *could* happen to you.

If the motive was money and she took a plea she gets nothing, she runs she gets nothing, she admits it she gets nothing. Surprised she got paroled still claiming she was innocent. Running looks very bad but if your a poor person against rich a$$ people especially the spouse that's a hard battle to fight. This show never gives enough info. I remember watching her segment on AMW and thinking my step-mom was actually her!! As a 12-13 year old kid, I was going to call the FBI and turn my step-mom in for this, can you imagine?!? lol
What I do not understand is after she served 5 years they said if you just plead guilty we will let you go with time served, that being 5 years..? If she pleads guilty, she should stay, because in fact she would have had murdered her husband and therefore should not be released. Can someone please help me understand this? If she hadn't fled, I would almost believe she had nothing to do with it. I've seen this case covered on other shows and some details here are presented differently or otherwise omitted. I still think she's a tough ol broad feigning gentility.

After watching this I don’t believe she did anything. But she should not have left. She should have stayed and used her resources to prove her innocence. Really a mind boggling case. Hope she is successful in proving her innocence through a new trial. Would love to know the outcome.
I agree but the fear of jail for a crime you didn’t commit would make my feet want to run, run, run. I honestly might have done the same. If I had been on that jury I couldn't have in good conscious convict with what the state had. Maybe it's how this particular show made it seem but it didn't sound like they had a case beyond a reasonable doubt.

I myself would have rather taken an Alford plea and be able to walk free than try and fight it and waste 20 long years of my life rotting in a cell. I figure while out free I may be able to prove my innocence. I understand her conviction and wanting to rather serve time than admit guilt but life is so short and prison is a horrible place and I believe if I had been offered the deal especially knowing all the evidence they had stacked against me, I would have taken it...even if I was innocent. But that's just me. I'm not knocking her decision...I just would have chosen different.
But the rub is, an Alford plea means that you believe you'd be convicted on the strength of the evidence alone, when there really wasn't much evidence against her at all.
This version of the case make Margaret sound innocent. But they left out a lot of information. I've seen this case before on another channel and she sure sounded guilty. Innocent people don't run.

In MY opinion, I don't think she is innocent. A lot about her guilty ways was not in this video. Ive seen videos about her before. Her actions just said guilty to me. If the motive was money and she took a plea she gets nothing, she runs she gets nothing, she admits it she gets nothing. Surprised she got paroled still claiming she was innocent.

What I do not understand is after she served 5 years they said if you just plead guilty we will let you go with time served, that being 5 years..? If she pleads guilty, she should stay, because in fact she would have had murdered her husband and therefore should not be released. Can someone please help me understand this?

If I had been on that jury I couldn't have in good conscious convict with what the state had. Maybe it's how this particular show made it seem but it didn't sound like they had a case beyond a reasonable doubt.

What a weird case. I saw no proof that she did it. No fingerprints on the weapon, no ballistic expertise. No financial transactions to dubious people etc.
It’s a good thing I wasn’t on that jury because if there was ever reasonable doubt, this trial would be the definition.
I myself would have rather taken an Alford plea and be able to walk free than try and fight it and waste 20 long years of my life rotting in a cell. I figure while out free I may be able to prove my innocence. I understand her conviction and wanting to rather serve time than admit guilt but life is so short and prison is a horrible place and I believe if I had been offered the deal especially knowing all the evidence they had stacked against me, I would have taken it...even if I was innocent. But that's just me. I'm not knocking her decision...I just would have chosen different.
But the rub is, an Alford plea means that you believe you'd be convicted on the strength of the evidence alone, when there really wasn't much evidence against her at all.

In MY opinion, I don't think she is innocent. A lot about her guilty ways was not in this video. Ive seen videos about her before. Her actions just said guilty to me.
