    This was very helpful. The WebRTC card, Go2rtc, rtsptowebrtc all mixed up has been very confusing. It's kinda nice everything is packaged neatly in one addon. Had a hell of a time getting it to work, since i didn't know i had to disable webRTC camera before installing Frigate.

    Thanks for sharing this. 👍I've learned that you are only using the "h264Preview_01_sub" preview channel (being the "Fluent" stream in Reolink) both for recording and detection. I was under the assumption of using "h264Preview_01_main" (the "Clear" stream in Reolink) for recording and "h264Preview_01_sub" for detection. 🤔 What's your take on this? And in respect to this question, what are youre resolution, frame rate, max bit rate and interframe space settings in the Relolink Stream configuration? 😁

    Thank you for this video, I have a Reolink doorbell connected to its 16 ch NVR and have followed your instructions step-by-step. Initially it seemed to work, meaning that both video and audio were working, but the audio was very bad quality, so I decided to uninstall Frigate add on , Frigate card and start again with a clean installation. Result is that the video is showing up but audio button and mic button show up after a few seconds on the home assistant Frigate Card. Also the audio no longer works and neither the microphone, even though their icons behave as they should. Any Ideas as to what I am doing wrong? I really need this to work but after a few weeks of trying over and over again , I must admit that I feel like giving up ! In frigate it's worth just looking through the logs while trying to load up the video stream just to see what errors it's throwing up. 9 times out of 10 a quick Google search of the error, you'll find the solution. Unfortunately there's so many variables, I'm unable to give a straight up answer.

    I'm confused, is the MQTT broker necessary for Frigate to function? I currently don't use MQTT on my Home Assistant instance, and would like to try setting up 2-way audio with my reolink doorbell, but would like to avoid the MQTT setup for now.

    • @HassAssistant

      @@HassAssistant Ah, okay. Thanks.
      I guess I will test this all on a separate instance, and then if it works well, do the work of untangling the externally-run MQTT server (that HA has some Read-Only actions going on...) from the thing that is running it, and integrating that into my main HA instance.

    my issue with this doorbell is that that i loose the doorbell functionality once connected to frigate/go2rtc. it seems like i can only can connect the doorbell to either frigate or reolink doorbell app/ or reolink integration and what's connected to frigate it will act like a camera not a doorbell.
    is that correct because am about to give up and remove this doorbell from my frigate system or should I keep trying to tweak it.

    • @HassAssistant
      @HassAssistant  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      so you raise a very valid point. though frigate serves a purpose with the camera image, mic and speaker, i did not cover the actual doorbell functionality.
      I use the official home assistant reolink integration for the doorbell button press sensor.
      however, that being said, my reolink app also works just fine in parallel with the reolink app. so definitely keep at it for now.

    cameras:
    - camera_entity: camera.front_door
    live_provider: go2rtc
    go2rtc:
    modes:
    - webrtc

    Got everything to work except the microphone. It just doesn't show up when I enable it in the Frigate Card. Sound toggles on and off fine.

      Whoa, I quit trying, I got a bit further and added your pasted your card config and the mic button showed up but when I click it on, safari asks to allow access to the mic and when say yes to that, the video drops and I lose access to my whole Home Assistant. I get the "Connection Lost: Reconnecting" message. The only way I seem to be able to get back on is to turn Wifi off and back on again on my MacBook. Well weird, the first time it happened, I thought HA had crashed and I pulled the plug on the server to reboot it.

    • @HassAssistant
      @HassAssistant  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@healeydave That seems like very extreme behaviour from just enabling a microphone. I would go through that process again to see if it happens again.
      If it does, you would need to check logs and see where exactly it's being tripped up.

    • @healeydave
      @healeydave 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@HassAssistant I can replicate it. The first problem with getting the Mic to show up was because I am using Dwains Dashboard and I was adding the Frigate card in that. It worked ok, but because you can't go to yaml mode in the editor, I'm assuming the Frigate card was missing the crucial "line provider" info. I then created a new empty dashboard to test using your code pasted into the frigate card. That worked but Safari doesn't seem to handle it too well. When I paste the config and save the card, it all turns up ok. but when you go back in and edit, the screen gets redrawn badly and the icons are on top of each other and everything stops responding. If I cycle Wifi on the top menu bar, I can refresh the page and everything starts working again. Very strange. I'd take a video of it but I doubt you'd want to waste your time with it. I'm gonna leave it for now, it's too clunky and unusable to waste much more time on it if I'm honest.

      @shenharomer7299 you should use a reverse proxy like nginx to forward any http requests to https. Then it will appear even when connecting locally.
