I've just bought the game (from DriveThru) and have started playing - loving it so far and it has got my imagination going. I'm relatively new to Solo RPGs - I've had a go at a few. Was playing Mork Borg for a while but found the setting too depressing. This is far more light-hearted and puts me in the vibe of The Hobbit etc... I envisage this as the start of many adventures. Perhaps I will play one of the heroes I create in a dungeon-delve? Who knows? Thanks for giving this game to us.
I discovered this game today, totally by chance, I am watching and reading as much as I can before probably buying it tonight! I just found you and I am getting very curious to the games you are releasing, great find! Still, the Broken Cask is the one that appeals to me the most, both by theme and vibes, as for being solo (I am having problems to get a group together, everybody so busy).
Hey Taylor, and thanks for your interest! The innkeeper's log is not a separate purchase. You can download it from my website and then either use it on your computer or print it off. Here's the link! drive.google.com/file/d/16mWIo68eGvq2BfVS_RZWpFW3hFNbedk_/view?usp=sharing
Just recently came across your game on Drive Thru, so came here to check it out. With your many early references to 4AD I instantly knew that I was in the right place... I have a few questions for you 1. Is there available (or plans to make available) a hardcover printing? I actually found you because I just decided to upgrade my entire 4AD collection to hardcover, and your game seems to need a spot on the same shelf! 2. When can we expect the first expansion? 😄 3. I saw The Gloryhammer on the staffing and equipment sheet... That's terrifying if it means we might encounter Zargothrax! Actually it's good for continuity. My 4AD world is primarily based on The Emerald Sword Saga and The Dark Secret, but also includes some Gloryhammer, Twilight Force, and a bit of Hammerfall. My son and I have in inn, The Squeaky Weasel, that we always use in any and all of our games, so it would be hecka fun to have game sessions that actually focus ON the inn. Also, as someone with innkeeping experience, hydra head recipes are a good return on investment because you only have to acquire the main ingredient once.
Hey thanks for the reply! I appreciate your enthusiasm for the game. 1. A hardcover is 100% doable and has been requested before. It would mean either prepping a hardcover print-on-demand using DriveThruRPG or doing another campaign to raise funds for a print run using a traditional printer. More expensive, but better quality...and boxes all over my house. It would also mean finding another layout person as Paolo has been very busy lately. I would also like to do it because there are a few niggling little errors in the book that need to be fixed. So it's in the cards! 2. I don't know about an expansion but I've got two followup games in the cooker. The first will be a light narrative game where you travel and actually visit the inns. I'm hoping to have playtests ready soon, but we got hit with the rona and so I'm still recovering my mojo. 3. Yeah the Gloryhammer reference may not stand the test of time, what with news of the band's drama from last year. But I'm still glad you caught the reference! Hail Hoots! Metal + RPG = awesome every time.

How many pages do you expect the final book to be?
The manuscript is just shy of 80 pages, so with the illustrations and design I'd guess maybe 90 pages?
