    I've watched 4 separate videos that all tried to explain a blind hem and this is the first one that made sense. Thank you for being so detailed!

    Thank you so much for this video. I'm new to blind stitching. A couple of things you did really made it look easy. Your camera was close to the fabric so I could see everything you did. Also, you talked about which foot and stitch to use. I think this is the easiest video I have watched for blind stitching. Again, thank you for helping novices like me.

    Thank you. This is the best tutorial on the blind stitch I have found on TH-cam. Bought a Singer 99 at an estate sale and decided I was going to clean it up and display it. Plus I thought why not use it when I have bigger sewing projects than just fixing a button. Now I'm hemming curtains and clothing. My wife is pleasantly amazed and happy. Again thank you for this tutorial. Cheers!

    Thank you. Most other videos on blind hems gloss over the set-up (not fully explained or shown). I often double fold my hems, so this was confusing. Thank you for showing this critical part of sewing a blind hem. Now I understand.

    This is the Best explanation of how to use a sewing machine for a blind hem that is out there in the u tube world. Very Good Mam , now I can go ahead a hem 5 pairs of pants , and use the new sewing machine I bought just for the very reason. The Men's Warehouse here in Central Florida. wanted 39.95 to hem a single pair of pants. which would of costed me close to 200 dollars. For that price , I've gone ahead and bought a new sewing machine and a sewing kit with all of the bells and whistles just to hem 5 pairs of pants, and i'm coming out with money to spare in doing so. Hell I may even start a little side business of doing Heming for people , charging only 8 to 10 dollar a pair. lol needless to say I sure as hell want let MENS WEARHOUSE do it.

    There are so many how to videos, and nearly all are helpful. But your videos are by far the most professional finished products. I much prefer the overlocked edge as opposed to double folding. I’m very new to sewing, and my new machine has both the overlock and blind hem stitches and feet. This will be my method.
    Thank you for the help!

    Hope you answer please :). You are the first one to show the first hem attachment. The one with the spring it it. I want to ask you how to use it since my machine came with it. The problem is that the hole from the attachment is not screwable so it doesn’t stay in place. The spring pushes it out. PLEASE answer.

    Interesting to see how easy it was to remove overlarge stitches too, as being new at this hem, a mistake I'm likely to make? I would have preferred to see it without the free arm though, as I don't have one on my Singer 201k, though it does have a blind foot which does 12 stitches in between catches. Wouldn't it be easier to put pins in after you've flipped the fabric so you could see them on top?

    When you switched to hem the sleeves with cover stitch, don’t you have to put the cutter out of the way so it won’t trim off the material , (sorry I’m new to this and am still paranoid about doing
    something wrong)

    • @oldtimerlee8820
      @oldtimerlee8820 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm new to machine blind hemming, too. That said, you may want to consider an adjustable bind hemming foot. Instead of adjusting the machine, the foot is adjusted left or right, instead. I have both types, but am trying to learn on the one that came with my machine, rather than the adjustable version that came in a presser foot set.
      Hope this helps.
