    I’ve watched so many different hemming videos and this is the ONLY video that talks about the adjustment for a tapered leg. Thank you so much for thoroughly explaining it!!

    So good to see actual pieces of garment for demonstration instead of fabric scraps like most tutorials

    Thanks, I've been wrestling with this for awhile since I've been tailoring my own dress pants myself. I have to redo so many pairs and the biggest issues I have was the tapered as you mentioned and keeping the hem straight (not catching too much fabric). When I turn it inside out, I can see how some are done right, you can barely see it and others are very visible. I know it will come with time but I am glad you give an example of tapered pants. I also think I need to get a better blind stitch foot, others I watch don't really move around like mines. I have over 30 pairs of pants that I want to taper and hem, so I have my work cut out for me.

      @SuperStitchSewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. It really is necessary to adjust for the taper. There are different blind hem feet. What machine do you have?

    PLEASE explain regarding the heel mark. Is that the point where the leather of the shoe meets the sole of the shoe in the seam of where they are glued together.

    • @SuperStitchSewing
      @SuperStitchSewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct. The back of the pant should hit where the heel meets the shoe.

    Thank you for this video. I just want to say that I wish you would have used a lighter color material because it is very hard to see when you are bending the material for the area we need to sew.

    I recently had some pants made at a tailor and please believe me that I didn't see any kind of stitching on the outside, even though I looked with a very strong magnifying glass ! On the back side you could see how the stitching thread wrapped around ONE THREAD of the fabric, and that in every place ! I can't figure out how this stitching was made, which of course was also done on the sewing machine. The tailoring workshop I'm talking about is very old and has old sewing machines.

    • @SuperStitchSewing
      @SuperStitchSewing  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That sounds like it was done on a blindstitch machine. That is a commercial style machine that has a curved needle. My demonstration is for a regular sewing machine.

    • @marianl8718
      @marianl8718 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SuperStitchSewing Yes, I found out that there are such curved needle sewing machines for hemming. However, at that tailor I only saw about two old Juki sewing machines, but it is possible that he has something like that. I could ask the tailor how did he do it, but first I try to solve the enigma myself, because this kind of stitching remains an enigma to me.
      A few days ago I bought a Veritas Janis sewing machine and tried to make a stitch as you showed here or as I have seen in other videos. The seam comes out prety well, especially if the fabric is ironed, but it stands out quite easly when viewed up close, no matter how short it is.
      Thank you for your reply.

    Are all foots compatible for all sewing machine manufactures?

    • @SuperStitchSewing
      @SuperStitchSewing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Each machine brand has feet for their machines. While some feet may be compatible with other brands it is always best to use the foot made for your particular machine.

    Is it generally okay to use the inseam measurement for pants at the correct length to determine length on the ones being hemmed?

    • @SuperStitchSewing
      @SuperStitchSewing  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure. If you are not marking them while wearing, you can go by the inseam measurement.

    How to do a blind hem without a blind hem foot on a brother lx3817? Thanks

    • @SuperStitchSewing
      @SuperStitchSewing  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Do you have the blind hem stitch? Just use your regular zigzag foot and try to position the stitch so that the left swing of the blind hem stitch just catches the fold.
