You and that guitar sound fantastic ! That has to be one of the Best Sounding Guitars in the World ! 🇺🇸👍🎼
Awesome 👌 thanks for the hella contribution to solo guitar mania.
He is a legend
just a closer walk with thee !!! awesome
The Wonderman!
Great groove and a great guitar. I played one at the Woodstock Invitational Luthiers Showcase 2 years ago and it sounds like no other archtop. In fact, it's unlike any other guitar. Very delicate, like a lute, but it has punch and I believe it would work for classical, bluegrass flatpicking, jazz or most any guitar style.
Can I ask what all you trolls think an archtop acoustic with a pick up and (most likely) low action sounds like? Good lord! Not to mention he's clearly wringing it out within an inch of its life!
this is amazing!
Charlie Hunter is tremendous!!!
Ken Parker is the luthier's DaVinci...
'The song is 'Sweet Emma"
When you have to play on the fly independent counterpoint bass line, chord progression and melody on top, all at the same time (and sing harmony to the melody line) with just one brain, two hands, and one voice, you'll understand why he's making such face.
No.......not really, he's just enjoying the heck out of the moment.
Mit
nice, take a closer walk with thee
very nice
I didn't know he could play six strings.
This is great, and a change to see him not playing his 7 string fanned fretted funk machine :)
Holy shit!
Right at the end he asks ; is that good? Lol 🤣
3 am and im up writing a literature paper for my lit 2 course.....i hated everything about taking bullshit courses to get myself into a decent music school while im in my first few years in college......this has made my struggles tonight worth being up.
Fwiw... I got a music degree a year and a half ago. In guitar. And met CH a few times along the way.
Hey, good to know you made it lol. Congrats

Charlie whats your guitars name and do you still have it?
does this song have a name or is it just improv?
Fu fu fu funky.

@forrest822 watch John Mayer when he plays - now thats a ridiculous face!!!
kindle
:D all great guitarists make ridiculous faces when they play
?????
your def'n of struggle is very subjective. :P
this guitar cost $30,000 ffs lol
But you hear the sound of it right? The clarity and tone are absolutely insane. Even through a pickup, the guitar sounds so earthy and natural. Also from a materials standpoint, wood with the evenness in grain structure that the top has is extremely difficult and time consuming to source. Ken Parker makes almost everything else by hand on his instruments. Combine that with a nearly spotless reputation, a real family bond with the people that play his instruments, and you get a guitar worth the five figure price tag. No one needs to spend that much to get a great guitar, but with the amount of time and effort that he puts into them and the care that he takes to cater each instrument to a particular musician makes the price well justified in my opinion. I don't want to cause any flame or heated argument, or make you think that I'm calling you stupid, but I just want to put this here on the off chance that if someone has a similar reaction to seeing the price tag (I did initially too), they might read this and have some more clarification on why guitars like Kens are priced the way they are. Each instrument is distinctly unique in character and look. I hope I didn't offend you! Cheers!
Also Charlie is a fkn beast.
P.S. I know your comment was posted 5 years ago. I only recently discovered this video haha.
@@MrZYTHER Dude. It sounds fine. No guitar is worth 30 grand because of how good of a guitar it is. It's either vintage, or rare/special in some other way. Charlie's dope as always...
Great music! But a pity, with all that percussion .. he broke the guitar, there's a piece missing up high :(
Charlie Hunter is tremendous but the guitar sound is questionable
It's more about the recording. Feel like it was done with microphone of the camera.
Okay, the little "s" at the end of the non-existing word "Archtops" wants to take a little journey and end up at the end of the word "play". See? That was easy.
Taking aside the genius of C.Hunter, this guitar looks nice but sounds crap!
" Was that good ? " says Charlie. Well, it was certainly very clever but sadly I think it had little actual musicality. It was like watching someone doing their morning exercises. Whilst I'm on a miserable old git theme, can I just point out that when a piece of music has no words it cannot be a SONG. It is a TUNE...or in Charlies case about thirty bits of TUNES stitched together...
It's "Just a closer walk with thee" and is has words. Charlie is just not singing them with his mouth. But clearly a song.
@@stefangeschke7604 : I think we'll just have to agree to differ Stefan !🧑🦽
Naaah...honest. Great effort and still it sounds plain awful.
sorry for the sound, but it s a live report
