Sreetips. As a scientist, I love what you are doing. I know NOTHING about processing precious metals; my expertise is in the biological sciences. That said, I love how hard you work to show the necessary steps that need to be taken to ensure that dangerous chemicals are treated with respect. Most TH-camrs don’t care about fume hoods or lab safety. Your videos are like nerd ASMR. Keep doing what you do! The scientific community approves!

I'd like to take a second to remind the people who come in here thinking that this VERY hardworking, researching, video editing, chemical, glassware, and supplies buying husband and wife ....are NOT suddenly on the Fortune 500 list... only because you are constantly seeing them refining and displaying what can look like large amounts of Gold, Silver, and Platinum Group Metals....This labor of love has been on TH-cam for way over a decade....and I love everything they do. Another great video. The gold sponge left after dissolving out the silver and base metals looked about the best I've seen based on the color so I'm not surprised the final bar came out as good as it did. You were pouring off a fair amount of fine gold while rinsing so I imagine that's where some of those grams went. It's hard to capture the look of pure gold on camera and of course you can't record that weird feeling of something that small being way too heavy for its size that gold or platinum gives.

He told me about propellents, fuel sources for x craft he flew for NASA. He made the first mobile decompression chamber for the Army. For deep sea recovery. He said the Navy would always ask him to borrow it. Only metallurgy he taught me was how to use metal as a propellant. .

I was a main propulsion engineer in the navy. But I flew commercial instrument multi engine aircraft for a while afterward. We have things in common. I invented the first weed eater as a kid in 1969. I was given a chore to trim the weeds around the base of our house before I could go with my friends. I had mounted a Cox .049 model airplane gas engine, with propeller, on a piece of wood and used it to finish the job in ten minutes. Would have taken an hour to trim it with hand-held cutters.

The science if Chemistry is such a cool thing, that you can add certain acids that will dissolve the Silver and base metals but leave the gold intact, then another acid to dissolve the gold into a solution itself and that Liquid gold is breathtaking in and of itself, to look at it and know that it contains PURE gold and then condensing back out of solution into a solid and melting it down to pour it into mold for storage. The entire process is Amazing and totally incredible that we ever figured out such a process to purify precious metals...I always love watching your channel and seeing the stunning result...A Gold Bar! I have seen the Purest gold in the world at the Canadian mint and a camera simply cannot do it justice, when you see it, even in it's adulterated form from mining or panning, but to see the result of the purifying process the Royal Canadian Mint puts it through to achieve the purity it has and then to hold it in your hand and stare into it, the Luster of it, the weight and no other metal on the earth has the same properties, that it can be hammered into ultra thin sheets without cracking or any other damage truly is amazing. Like you say, Sreetips, words fail to convey the beauty and captivating luster that no other metal has. Always fun to watch your process yield such beautiful bars of Gold! Thank you, as always for sharing!!!

Looks different this time when trying to melt the sponge and it also took longer. Must be more pure! Awesome!
