😂 yes be a good one that mate, once the emperor Shop is open we will look to start that channel too
@@Preferred_Joinery good man looking forward to it
Brilliant! That’s a workshop of my dreams! Keep up the videos👍
Thanks! What’s your set up like now?
@@Preferred_Joinery We have mainly Wadkin machinery where I work. Most of it is pre war and still runs amazing. They definitely don't make stuff to last like that anymore! I've got mainly Axminster stuff at home in my garage/workshop at home. Happy with it just wish for more space but that's something to aim to in the future 👍😁
@ sound good!
It’s like anything, you always want something better than what you have already. And yes the old school stuff is the best
Great factor tour , very interesting , your best assets there are your skilled workers . Good episode Alex.
Thanks David 👊🏼
Cracking video...Thanks....In awe of the skill needed to do such a great job.
Thanks Peter
Great vid Alex and Niall
Cracking little firm there mate you look like you gonna do well.
Look forward to the next one.
Glad you enjoyed it
*Hi Alex and the Preferred Joinery team* ...
Really good to get a tour of the workshop. Its amazing what *good machinery* and big safe working spaces gives you.
That *morticer* does look a solid bit of kit.
One thing I'd love is a *power sander* . Would save me hours. Perhaps when i fully retire...🤔
I know newer machines you can play tunes on .... program remotely, watch progress via monitor etc ....but they aren't made to last ....give me old school anyday ...and with an operator feeling and seeing what he's doing and making.
Really enjoyed the vlog. *I bit more pressure doing the whole vlog ??* 🤔🤔😉 ....
*Glad Niall* is feeling better too.
Be safe, be happy, Gary 🙏
Thanks Gary as always!
Yes mate not easy doing it on your own, hats off to everyone doing it week in week out 👊🏼
Great episode Alex, top job mate 🤜🏻🤛🏻🙏🏻
Thanks mate

Thanks mate
Thanks for that . I really enjoyed the video - Great work guys 👌
Thank you
Loved the tour and not a Domino in sight !
👊🏼
Brilliant insight of the factory 😊 good luck with future plans and some automation to help with getting repetitive jobs out 👏🏼
Thanks
Cracking tour Alex 🫡

More to come!
Great tour of the factory enjoyed the content look forward to see the lads in action
Glad you enjoyed it
Beginning was hilarious 😂 😂😂 yip enjoyed think u might even get better than chris 😉 😂😂
Hahah 100% 😂
😂
'ey up Alex, great episode 👍👍👍
Thanks Richard
Super Alex
@@keithbrueton thanks Keith
Loved the tour, there is something special about the jobs done by hand. CNC machines don't check for quality as they go through the factory like preferred. You don't get the quality of machines that you have, old is gold. All the new stuff is made of tin and plastic compared to your machines.Look forward to more episodes👍
Very true!
Nice set up you've got there. Takes me back to when i did my apprenticeship in a shop . They used to have the 6 cutter and a powerband resaw. I love all the hand aspct of it. This of just buying something off the shelf i hate
👊🏼
Love watching
👊🏼
See you tomorrow morning 👍👍👍👍

5 Billion dollars to anyone who can convince me that anyone in the video was speaking English.
Sorry boss, show me the money and I’ll speak like the king for you
👏
Do you guys read in the same accent?
😂😂 yes, read write and spell all in scouse.
Was going to ask you the same question 🤣
Please for sake of peoples fingers get the guard on that surface planer😮 and a few more pairs of ear defenders, apart from that loved the tour 😊
Thanks mate. Guards there and ear defenders for everyone
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Here he is the number 1 Fan 😂
I don’t want to be ‘that guy’ but your valuations on machines couldn’t be further from the truth, I say that incase you thought getting new machines were a lost cause, try auctions for things like rip saws- always available. For arguments sake your cross cut is no more than 500, your Sedgwick tennoner about 1000, that 15k spindle… about 2k if you’re lucky. Really not saying this to be an arse, just want you to know that you could upgrade your stuff for a lot less than you may think. Anyway, good to see another joinery company doing well 👍🏼
You can say that about anything you buy at auction. Cars, houses….
Prices are what we paid there or there about, albeit few years ago or what a replacement to us would cost. We aren’t trying to be anything we are not.
The value of machines has no impact on the way we judge our business, it’s purely to add context to the video.
As for us we rather pay that bit extra and buy from the same companies we bought these machines from (Brand new or Refurbished) rather than an auction purchase.
Having the machines run with minimal breakdowns is more important than the price we pay for them.
Thanks for watching anyway 👊🏼
The EQ without the guard is not safe. Please fit a proper guard. You owe it to your staff
How often have you had a safety inspection. You are breaking the law by allowing employees to use these .God help you if one looses a hand.
@@grahamprice3230 yes, it is really dangerous. And no guard on the planer thicknesser. I would never buy products from a company that treated staff like that. And this chap - who seems a nice person- is advertising his lack of care all over You Tube !
@@grahamprice3230We had HSE out last year for an audit. All was fine except a slight adjustment on the riving knife on the rip saw.
Feel free to Watch our other TH-cam channel on EveryTrade where we discuss it.
Why wouldn’t we want everyone to be safe?
We came into this business 18 months ago, the guys here have been in since it opened 30 years ago.
Safety is what me and my business partner want!
@@jimpackard8059Treat staff like what?
@@Preferred_Joinery I suggest you check official “Safe use of vertical spindle moulders” document. If an official HSE officer had seen that ring fence in action without the guard during the inspection then surely he cannot have approved. If he did, he needs to change jobs.
The old Wilson machine, riving knife look s a bit suspicious. There seams to be a lack of guards on nearly all the machines. Come chaps, you only get one pair of hands. This is someone speaking from experience. F**k me, some of the spindle cutters are a bit suspect. Loose fitting gloves near a saw blade. That's how I nearly lost two fingers. My glove got pulled into the saw blade. Whinge over! Looks like you do a decent job and not one Festool in sight!
Appreciate your thoughts on this. HSE signed this rip saw off last year and asked us to fit the riving knife like this. 8mm from the blade.
To give you some context, the guys in this factory have been here for nearly 30 years using these machines
@@Preferred_Joinery Hi mate. I'd had nearly 30 years experience, before my accident.
I was always taught, riving knife as close to the blade as is practical and above the cut of the blade. Not all riving knives follow the same radius as the saw blade, you just have to use a bit of common sense. If your not doing through cuts, obviously the knife has to be below the blade. Good luck for the future and stay safe.
You gotta measure it yourself with a piece of tape? Wow your hard work to listen to buddy. You get a strong don't recommend.
Pointless comment
Love to see what you sound like on a TH-cam video….Speaking to a camera is not for the faint hearted and I class myself as no Brad Pitt….I have to force myself to film.
But, I’m Just a guy who’s willing to do what it takes to put himself out there to promote our company to people willing to watch.
Tbf, when I watch other TH-cam videos, sometimes I think to myself, I don’t rate this person. But I’d never lower myself down to a level where I would comment on their video like you have done….Because as I explained above, that person has most probably given it there all to create a video and spent there hard earned money to showcase it, for people like you to sit there.
Which is the most impressive thing and deserves anyone’s respect. Not the way the sound or speak or look.
But anyway, thanks for clicking on the video and watching it long enough to at least come to your opinion, we must be doing something right if you clicked on the video and watched some of it!!😂
Have a nice life 👊🏼
