The last U.S. antimony mine was closed in 2001. Environmental and economic reasons were cited. There is still antimony in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada. Nitrocellulose is made by several companies in the United States. It's made with cellulose, the most abundant organic compound on earth, reacted with nitric and sulfuric acids. Seems to me we should be able to mitigate the damage caused by the Chinese embargo. We might even learn a lesson about having to rely on potentially hostile powers for strategic requirements.
Correct! Last year, an ammo mfg whistle-blower came out and said that there are buildings and conex's full of over stock in their price gauging scheme.
It may be on the shelves now . Folks just don't get it. They haven't shipped nitrocellulose in over a year to the United States. The stuff you see now is what has been stacked up in warehouses all over the country.
I don’t think it’ll be as bad as we think. I see more ammo that comes from Europe and other countries than the USA. PMC comes from South Korea, PPU is Serbian, and S&B is Czech, plus a few others. Our major ones are federal, Winchester, Remington, hornady, and CCI

Invest ASAP in these companies. Alliant Powders - Owned by Vista Outdoor, they produce smokeless powders for reloading, which includes defense-grade nitrocellulose. Their headquarters are located in Lewiston, Idaho. Island Pyrochemical Industries - They manufacture nitrocellulose-based propellants for small-caliber ammunition and other applications. Their worldwide administrative headquarters are based in Long Island, New York. Rheinmetall - A European manufacturer modernizing plants to produce nitrocellulose. Nammo - Another European company involved in the production of nitrocellulose. They have significant operations in the US, including locations in Mesa, Arizona, and Arlington, Virginia.

I just paid $390 for 1000 rounds of 556 fmj 55gr shipped. Sounds like I need to pick up a few more boxes
I paid $400 for a case of 1,000 rounds of 55gr fmj 556 at a gun store in 2020.
@@lewis9888 Did I pay too much?
The last U.S. antimony mine was closed in 2001. Environmental and economic reasons were cited. There is still antimony in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada. Nitrocellulose is made by several companies in the United States. It's made with cellulose, the most abundant organic compound on earth, reacted with nitric and sulfuric acids. Seems to me we should be able to mitigate the damage caused by the Chinese embargo. We might even learn a lesson about having to rely on potentially hostile powers for strategic requirements.
Really hope this just becomes a W for american manufacturing
Who would have thought that outsourcing things that are critical for our national defense was a bad idea?
It's NWO...
All theatrics bro...
The world is a stage...
Nothing is as it appears... 🎭
There is no shortage
Correct! Last year, an ammo mfg whistle-blower came out and said that there are buildings and conex's full of over stock in their price gauging scheme.
@@LA89the sports stores not too long ago were taking ammo off the shelf and hiding it in the back, then they would put a few boxes out at high prices.
Can we PLEASE not start another damn shortage by panic buying again, FFS?? We’ve barely gotten past the 2020 ammo calamity
It’s mind boggling but think positive. It will make sure core competencies will be brought back home and our independence from foreign suppliers grows.
Invest ASAP in these companies.
Here are some manufacturers known for producing nitrocellulose specifically for gunpowder:
Eurenco - They provide energetic nitrocellulose for propellants used in various calibers of ammunition.
Eurenco: It appears that Eurenco is not publicly traded, so there is no stock symbol available for this company.
Vista Outdoor (Alliant Powders): The stock symbol for Vista Outdoor Inc. is VSTO.
Island Pyrochemical Industries: This company is privately owned and does not have a stock symbol.
Rheinmetall: The stock symbol for Rheinmetall AG is RHM4.
Nammo: Nammo is also privately owned and does not have a stock symbol.
Can we make our own
No domestic ability to source NS.
@freedom4all108
Nitrocellulose is synthesized by processing cellulose with nitric acid and sulfuric acid. We can absolutely produce it domestically, we just need to set it up.
Easier said than done.
@aquariumdude7829
It always is, but we shouldn't be dererred.
@@aquariumdude7829It is, but people can find a way. Sure, you will only be able to make it slowly and in only enough quantity to equip just yourself, but that's better than nothing. Hey, if that don't work, there are still flintlocks and black powder. Lol
Thanks for the heads up…..ammo story here I come……
I reload my own ammo. No shortages here. Just think what I could get for a box of 5.56 green tips after they pull the plug.
I've been saying that for years they'll take your ammo regardless of shortage of production or not.
The U.S. is fully capable of producing these materials, we do have places that manufacture the materials -- we just need more and now a smart business person will do just that.
What we need are ammo companies to refuse to sell to government clients so long as they block imports. Ammo for civilians only!
The government could easily invoke the Defense Production Act. They will always get first dibs.
Its folks like you why ammo shortages are a thing .
I stopped listening just before you said not to max out my credit cards on ammunition.
Now I’m on a watchlist.
Lol… I was already on several.
Thankfully I have it stacked high and deep. I buy ammo every payday for 25 years. Thankfully never had to worry about any panic purchases. I also manufacture my own ammo as well and stocked up.
At least this time you’re not endorsing the “Sonoran Scamming Institute”
Heaven forbid we make it ourselves
Gun Cotton is not difficult to make.
We left our means of production in the hands of our adversaries & we’re surprised by the result?
There is no ammo shortage and hasn't been in awhile.
308 PMC rounds down to $0.93 from just over $1 a round last year in bulk retail.
Why is America not making these supplies our selves like we used to
It is actually due to the gov shutting down the biggest ammo producer this week in Missouri
