i'm actually student teaching with 2nd grade right now and the school i'm at has been doing the hybrid model and starting this monday as well we are starting full time face to face learning!! It'll be crazy going from 11 kiddos a day to 24! Both of the cohorts were so different! Anyway, Good luck!!! You'll do great! I love your classroom! I'm getting so many great ideas from you!!

In third grade we had a plant and we (the kids) got to choose a name and then vote. We named the plant Planty-mc-Planty and we had class jobs and changed the roles every few weeks and one of the jobs was to water plants mc planty so i think if you do that with your new plant your kids would really enjoy it!
I did think about doing that!! I love the idea of having a job be to take care of the plant ❤️
I hope your first day goes really well! I also teach 2nd grade, here in Texas. Tuesday the 13th was the first day for students whose parents chose for in person learning. I’m also the only 2nd grade Regular Program teacher so I have 27 students 😅. I have 9 in person and the rest are virtual. I was extremely overwhelmed the first day. Just trying to find that balance of my in person students and virtual. It was hard. But I can’t wait to hear how it goes for you! You got this! ❤️

Super surprised your state and district is not social distancing kiddos in classroom. We have to be between 4 1/2 and 6 feet apart and all facing the same way. One teacher online did this by buying yoga mats and cutting in half as his desks and tables wouldn't work.
Is that rules and procedures role worksheet on tpt ?

A lot of these worksheets I’ve accumulated since student teaching and don’t know exactly where I got them. If you just search “get to know me worksheet” on TPT or “classroom job applications”, I promise you’ll find a ton of different options! 😊

Is your school not returning 6ft social distancing? We’ve been in person for 3 weeks but even the K classes had to have desks 6ft apart
We have full class sizes so it’s physically impossible to keep everybody 6ft apart 😕 I understand your concern but we are taking every step possible to ensure these kiddos safety!

I’m studying to become a middle school teacher and I’m hoping that I could finish everything as soon as possible (I’m 20 years old) and I was wondering if it was weird that I might start teaching next school year as I’ll be 21 years old.
