- In this video I completely disassemble a 19502 mv1 benchmaster milling machine. I’m very interested in finding a benchmaster pulley guard if you have one you can contact me at wboone.testerman@gmail.com Thank you for watching #machine #restoration #fun
Doing a great job on that mill can't wait till you get it done
Perfect little bench top mill.
I just tore one down and it went 100% ok. Is that a felt seal on the end of t spindle? Pulley end. Cleaning up perfect. 80 yr old mill. My overarm was shimmed and the keyway a little mangled but tats it. Everything else is 100%.
nice work
I'm not sure your markings are deep enough but the way they are normally filled is not paint but rather silicone. Yea, I know,, sounds nuts but that is how it's done.
No kidding! thanks for telling me
Thanks for posting this series of videos. I just picked up a Benchmaster MV1 and am in the process of cleaning it up prior to a potential full restoration+repaint. Have you ever removed the handwheel handles on yours if you still have it? One of my handwheel handles falls out, but I cannot figure out how it is supposed to stay in on its own. It looks like it is press fit. The two good ones revolve and I do not want to break them trying to figure out how they are held in place. (I might try swapping all the handles out with JW Winco replacements if I cannot sort out how to make the bad one stay in place...)
They use a single tapered pin that goes through the collar of the hand wheel and spindle shaft. Use a small round punch and find the small side of the tapered pin and tap it out with a hammer. The hand wheel would just slide off. It took me a bit to figure that out too. Hope this helps
Best, B
I own one!
Its been a year and a hlaf where is part 2?
its on my Chanel, not sure how to link them. sorry about that.
