    Her lawyers argued yesterday that they want the case thrown out because there’s no evidence that she wrote the op-Ed but she started with her testimony that she is there because her ex-husband is suing her for op-Ed that she wrote. She just said “..that I wrote.” I hope they caught that.

      They have to make that argument at that point in the trial. It would be malpractice not to file a motion to dismiss when the plaintiff rest their case. They never expected that motion to pass.
      Keep in mind that they argued this motion without the jury present. They don't have to make the same argument in front of the judge that they are making in front of the jury.

    re-watching this after the verdict.... it's funny how she has no idea how she's coming across. it's like she has no self awareness. when she's asked about her career and life, she has this look in her eyes of magic, fun, story telling and it's not really the vibe ANY victim would have, even as the subject is still on the lighter side. they are still sitting right in from of their abuser and knowing which questions are to come so already from the jump, i feel like she lost me. because she immediately gives off this vibe that does not match the situation.
    then she cues her fake non tears and it all goes to the pooper. I am so beyond relieved that the jury had the same gut reaction as me and most of us. i was so worried. alas there is still justice in this world.

    • @katiegriffin7597
      @katiegriffin7597 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I agree, especially when you say it’s not how any victim would act. A lot of people are saying not all victims are the same and you don’t know how they will act, and I also believe that is true. However, while it’s impossible to determine how any victim WILL act, it’s also possible to say how any victim WON’T act. Every victim of DV and/or SA is different but no one who has gone through this should look as excited as she is to be up there.

To resume her logic : " Everything she did , wrong or bad , was for a good reason . And if you convince her she really had no good reason to be a c*nt ? She will explain it is because *you* force her to act like this even though she really did not wanted that ( cry a lot ) so yeah this is all your fault and the end justify the means to lock you up because you deserve it ( i am a victim and you a PoS ) . As a former victim of DV, I can tell that she is not a victim of DV. What she doesn’t realize is that the primary emotion that we deal with as victims, is SHAME. That is why these relationships are so hard to face up to and get out of. Amber performs how she IMAGINS a victim would feel, hurt and broken, but we tend to downplay rather than exadurate, and we tend to be much more distanced and short in descriptions because the mind doesn’t want to go there, yet Amber includes details like how dirty the carpet was. It tells me that she, as an actor, is imagining the scenario and is trying to put herself in that place, but that she has never actually experienced it. Also, it is EXTREMELY difficult for for the victim to look at the abuser, yet Amber stared Johnny down during his testimony, whilst he doesn’t even look up at her once.

      Incredible huge ego, her face lights up talking about herself, in fact everything is about her, self centered brat thinking she can ride the gravy train of money from Johnny Depp. Listening to all the recordings of her berating Johnny, bullying Johnny, she is one nasty piece of work, I don't like her, I don't trust her , she has calculated every step, so premeditated , it's about money bottomline it's money she's after.

    At 1:11:24 she glances at Johnny and for a split second her eyes turn to hate. I believe she's devastated and extremely angry with him because he left her. She quickly changes her expression back but it came out she couldn't hide it. The fact he hasn't looked at her. During his testimony he didn't look at her either and she stared at him throughout waiting for eye contact. She probably thought he would when she hit the stand. Well done Johnny. Very good decision. She doesn't deserve to look into your eyes.
