One of the best things is that unlike modern Cop shows, sometimes the things that happened in Adam-12 weren't really huge deals. My daughter thinks I'm crazy when I watch one of my favorite episode where Mallory and Reed call in for a lunch break just than they get a flat as Reed is changing the tire an annoying exchange cop from Texas stops and asks Reed What's you boys got there a little old flat tire? Reed looks at him with a dead pan looks on his face as he's lifting the spare and says NO I'M CHANGING THE OIL! It's still funny to this moment and I'm cracking up as I write. Those were shows with real class and example. Adam 12 is my favorite because Martin Milner, & Kent Mccord, always lead by example, respect, and acted as gentlemen the kind of people and personality that we are missing today. @gymnastix 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@dalerider3124 With regard to the late Martin Milner's "cute partner" in "Adam-12," Kent Franklin McWhirter (known professionally as "Kent McCord") was attending a small college in Utah on a football scholarship when a friend asked him to play in what was supposed to be a friendly touch football game in Los Angeles, but turned into a tackling bloodbath, the team for which Kent played also including singer and actor Ricky Nelson and the other team captained by none other than Elvis Presley, with his so-called "Memphis Mafia," including longtime bodyguard Red West.
Because of Kent's gridiron skills, along with the fearsome McKeever Twins (Marlin and Michael, both later NFL), tandem tackles from USC, Rick's team beat Elvis' good ol' Southern boys, although bruises were sported by all for a few days afterward. And because of this initial interaction, Kent became a good and close friend of Rick Nelson's, even serving as best man at Rick's wedding to Kristen Harmon (herself daughter of University of Michigan All-American and Los Angeles Rams football player, then sports announcer Tom Harmon, as well sister of actor Mark Harmon). Kent received a job on the Nelson family television series "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" (ABC-TV, 1952-1966), portraying one of Rick's fraternity brothers, although Ricky himself, in reality, barely finished high school.
And it was due to Kent's work in "Ozzie and Harriet" that he eventually signed a contract with Universal, which led to roles in other TV series' (including Jack Webb's revival of his 1950s police drama "Dragnet") and his being cast as "Officer Jim Reed" in Webb's "Adam-12" series.
But since you thought Kent McCord cute, and likes his hairstyle in the early years of "Adam-12," ,you should probably know he later grew out his hair much longer and that he has been married to his high school sweetheart for over half a century now. Kent is a devout heterosexual, Dale.
You might have have better luck with one of Marty Milner's partners from his first starring role TV series, "Route 66," as George Maharis, the actor who portrayed "Buz Murdock," the first road buddy of Milner's character "Tod Stiles," is supposedly predisposed to male attraction.
As for Maharis' replacement for the third season of "Route 66" on CBS, the late Glenn Corbett (who portrayed "Lincoln 'Linc' Case") did pose nude for the all-male Athletic Model Guild pictorial volumes of publisher Bob Mizer, about whom a film, "Beefcake," was produced several years ago. That said, Corbet had been married to two women, including having fathered two children with his first wife. And many a young male in fantasyland Hollywood, as well in New York's theater world, had supported himself by pretending to be so-called "gay-for-pay"), including work in nude modeling and hiring out as a "male escort."

Coincidentally, they actually showed her in a cameo role on an Adam-12 episode on ME-TV a couple of nights ago. It was the episode called 'Suspended' (Season 5, episode 20). She doesn't appear to be playing a dispatcher in that ep, though. She's sitting at a desk in the police station and has a brief exchange with Malloy. Woulda been great if they'd used her as the dispatcher voice in this clip.

Bhola Oates Sharon Claridge was playing herself, a dispatcher. Malloy had gone to see her at the dispatch office for permission to run DMV checks on all the cars that matched the description Reed gave him after he (Reed) was suspended following a shooting that resulted in a suspect’s death.

@@35diamondgirl Thanks. Since I'd never seen a dispatcher sitting at a mostly empty desk without anyone else in close proximity (besides Malloy), I assumed she was just acting as a clerk or something of t hat sort. I used to work in a police communications dept. back in the 70's and it didn't look anything like that. An officer normally wouldn't be able to just walk up to a dispatcher while they're working and have a conversation since the dispatcher is busy monitoring important police calls. EDIT: I just looked at a clip of the scene on youtube. I guess I simply remembered the scene wrong. It actually could be a dispatcher's desk after all. Still looks different from the type of communications department I worked in though.

Bhola Oates I saw an interview with her about that scene, and she said she went to the studio to shoot it. I loved Laugh In. Many an evening my mom would wonder what was wrong because I was laughing so hard.

Martin Milner was a classic actor. His first film, in 1947, was Life With Father. He was in his teens then. He had a nice long career, and a genuinely nice guy. Rare in Hollywood.

@Paul Kersey I agree. The Father cracked me up. So out of touch. Young Elizabeth Taylor too.

I was told about one of them who is driving. He walked in, recognized me as a kid from TV, approached, picked me up into his arms, and confused me looking at his face directly in front of my family and unknown people at McDonald's. I wish my mother would bring a camera and picture us together!... He saw me as a baby on TV often for a year until I was adopted on Jan 14, 1969, before my 1st birthday on Feb 29th...I am almost 54...:) that classic TV was awesome!

He and his wife both still look like a million dollars. Up until a few years ago I would occasionally see them when their car needed something. Kent LOVES Indy car racing, especially the Indianapolis 500. His hairline is better than mine and I'm 25 years younger haha
