If you want to defeat a lynel with it make sure you ride the lynels back or your weapon will break because when you ride a lynels back it doesn’t take up any durability but if you don’t ride its back it will break your weapon after 1 hit.
This makes me think of how I used a 5-shot lynel bow and a silver horriblin horn with barbarian armor to one-shot a stone talus. It would be 32+32x5x2x1.5 = 960 damage, it was massive overkill (I think they have 300hp) and I couldn't help but chuckle.

One thing I don’t really like about TOTK is that when you fuse weapons, depending on what you fuse, the item will either replace the blade, (or at least fit on the weapon in a way that makes sense and looks cool), or it will just be awkwardly stuck on top of it. Like if Link just took some super glue or duct tape and stuck it on there. It’s a minor nitpick, but that really bothers me. XD

The section on getting low durability won't work with the gibdo bone, since it breaks off immediately and affects the durability. I believe you have to fuse something else to the weapon (e.g., a bokoblin horn) and then get it down to breaking point in order to chew through the bonus durability you get from fusion. Then destroy the fused attachment and fuse on your gibdo bone.
@@Dumb_Dash Fusing something to a weapon gives it bonus durability. For most weapons it's 25, for the royal guards claymore I think 10. If it was at 1 durability from breaking it, it will go up to 11 durability when you fuse a gibdo bone to it. However, if you've already damaged the weapon while it has something fused, you've effectively used up the bonus durability and it won't appear when you fuse a new item to the weapon.
This info is slightly off. The atk boost from food comes in lv 1,2, or 3 yes, but lv 3 atk up is not a 3x multiplier. Its 1.5x multiplier. So its skewed all your calculations, roughly doubling the actual output. So your damage is actually half of what you estimated. Still enough to kill a lynel in one cycle, as well as one shot almost all silver enemies and overworld boss variants.
That, but he could just puff a Lynel and then sneak attack with it for a even bigger multiplier. I prefer to actually to do the mechanics with parrying and dodging though so much more satisfying and easier to me.
Great video ! Just one question (please excuse my bad english, I'm actually french) : do we really need to get a pristine weapon ? Because the only difference with the decayed one seems to be durability, wich is useless in this case cause we're hitting the claymore to the breaking point anyway ?
Yes we do unless you want quite a bit lower attack rate. The regular royal guards claymore has a starting damage of 32, and the pristine version has a starting damage of 39, and thats before we get the +10 attack boost. Hope this helps :) also thanks for watching the video!
The real damage of the decayed version is 34 and the real damage of the pristine version is 42. All two-handed weapons deal more damage than the inventory says they do due to a hidden 0.95x multiplier on shown weapon damage, which also rounds down to create an even larger disparity between the shown value and the true value. This multiplier also applies to Fuse damage and the Attack Up modifier damage, causing that additional damage to actually be ~5% higher than the shown damage in the inventory. This becomes important at the very upper levels of attack boosts, involving multiple modifiers and damage multipliers. Without this hidden damage boost, the strongest Royal Guard’s Claymore when thrown could only deal 1441 damage, which isn’t enough to kill a Molduga. With the hidden damage multiplier, it deals 1522 damage, which is enough to kill a Molduga.
The reverse is the case for spears, which all deal ~25% less damage than the inventory says. This massively affects spears when you factor in all the damage boosts, due to the disparity between the shown value and true value of damage only increasing exponentially with every additional multiplier you factor in. The Lightscale Trident is capable of the highest total damage of any spear when Link is wet. If the values in the inventory were true, then it could reach 334 damage per hit normally. In reality, it can only reach 253 damage per hit normally.
I don't know if it has to do with main quest progression but so far I couldn't find the pristine version. That particular shadow soldier was at most holding a Royal Claymore, even though I had the Royal Guard's Claymore and broke it. 🤷♂ (I only completed the Zora phenomenon so far). I followed this video exactly, and two things. 1) my attack after getting this exact royal guard's claymore, it said the attack was +10, I put in the Evil Spirit Armor and fused to molduga jaw, it only had the attack ay 79. 2) The hitting the fused weapon on the ground until it gave the low durability message did nothing. And after hitting it two more times it just broke. So, what gives? Is this trick no longer viable, or did I mess up somewhere?

Most of the time, when I mount a lynel and attack, I get 3 hits... 6 hits the very first time, then 3 every time afterwards.
I'm currently trying this out at the coliseum, but the Lynels keep throwing me off after a few swings. What's worse, is that everytime they do, I wind up smashing the weapon on the ground when I land, breaking it.
If I have breaking point on my sword with the +10 attack bonus, will that make it stronger?
That’s nuts
Correct me if I’m wrong but Gibdo bones done work
I have to try this
You waste so much puffshrooms just hit the lynels on the head with an arc 😂
I have a question my royal guard claymore says 98 damage once I fuse the gibdo bone on but it became no longer badly damaged and when I hit it on the ground would it break I just am confused do I hit it of do I leave it like that
Late game you get decayed RGC all over the place - enemy NPCs drop them a lot. That said, you should by now have at least 1 pristine RGC.

Great video. Quick question. I found and broke the Royal Guards Claymore. I followed all of the steps, yet it never shows up at the shadow soldier. I saved before I left the Light root and every time a new weapon appears. Yet after an hour the Royal Guards Claymore has not shown up. Any suggestions? Thank you
Disregard! I guess and hour and 5 minutes was the magic number
Star ox horn also works
All I keep getting is the travelers claymore
Can I feed the sword to a rock octorock if it won’t get +10 because mine isn’t a getting a boost when I pick it up I have been trying and I kept getting Durability and now I got attack +5 because I have picked up the weapon like 7 times and nothing has been added to it
Technically with a sneastrike it would d o more right?
Yes, it would do 8 times more damage
Holy
thank you, but i ain’t reading all that, v cool to see other people’s perspectives on playing the game though
I fused the colgera Jaw and the thing shreds
I found 2 in the depths while farming poes
