I can hear McAleer fingerprints in this old style - the minor third motif, rhythm being a key driver in the piece, and the motif fragments.
My thumbprints? Interesting you identified them even in a style far removed from my present work! I agree there are distinct relationships with, say, The Man in the Moon even though the latter as far more romantic.
