Ramaa B is such a fantastic storyteller! Exciting narration style, and scriptwriting ability! She was able to combine the history of south Indian cinema, info of Bharatanatyam's revival era, Kamala's biography and her own personal experiences into 30 minutes of entertaining documentary that will be a treasure for future generation. Thank you.

Ramaa Akka, this is wonderful! Such a treat! Thank you so much. My first guru, Kuttalam M Selvam of the Kattumannar Kovil lineage, would talk constantly about Kamala's dance with great admiration and fascination, especially while teaching us 'theeradha vilaiyaattu pillai.." and the thaa-ha-ta-jham-tari-thaa adavu (which you see in the very last sequence in the video). He would talk about the way Kamala does that slight backward tilt of the head as the hand moves up. Just love it!

    Ramaa,
I cannot tell you how much I am enjoying the movie that you have made about my idol the great Kamala. I am watching it with a lot of attention and rewinding and seeing it so many times. You are such an excellent storyteller and just like your teacher you are so perfect in how you are rendering the story with all the aspects of voice, storytelling facial expressions and the right humour. She cannot ask for a better student To tell her story with so much dignity and yet in so much detail- Sujatha Srinivasan.

This is thrilling to watch. Even as the Producer of the series.. KAMALA was the very reason my mother pushed me to dance class.

Ramaa, it has been a long time since we met, but I just wanted to say how lovely it was to watch this series, kamala and you were splendid, and the double act of kamala, is rich material for a social dance historian, Congrats for pulling this off so splendidly, I was not sure if I am looking forward to your commentary or the edited videos. Wonderfully scripted and performed Ramaa. Congrats Anita for this great Talkies initiative, huge archival resource for Bharatanatyam history, and a pioneering initiative that will be really useful to the next generation...thank you. Thanks Ramaa for this wonderful celebration of our Kamala akaa....I can see the immense effort, research/inquiry behind this delightful project.
I bet even akaa might not recollect all of these details and what a treasure for all future generations of dancers. Such a laudable idea and as always....captivating story telling by none other than my sis.
It was so nice to see such good archived prints of these time honored films.
Special special applause for the effective (and thankfully not overdone) graphics. . I too remember dancing to 'aduvome' with you..
Kamala (lotus) shining in your blossomed padma (lotus) hasta at your heart center (lotus) was a nice touch at the end.
Also, loved the "இரண்டும் இரண்டு கண்கள்" suggestion as you moved the framing of your hands. Looking forward to the fragrance of ep 2 and 3.
Awesome ....proud of your pursuits, projects and accomplishments. Shine on....sis.

I think Baby Sheela is the same beautiful and elegant dancer that appears - later on -
in the song "Ae Ishq Yeh Sab Duniya Wale" performed by Lata Mangeshkar,
in "Mughal - E- Azam" movie.
