gabi! you can use a lash serum! just look for ones that are rather peptide-based instead of having prostaglandins/prostaglandin analogues. so avoid latisse and grande lash.
I work in the biotechnology & wellness industry with a degree in Life Sciences and I refuse to wear Kosas or any product that doesn’t use real preservation. There are many safe effective preservatives to chose from. I work with scientists, R&D formulators from skincare and cosmetics companies. The clean beauty movement is all marketing that lacks proper science.
Yeah, I hate these trends that make certain ingredients "good" or "bad". I feel like brands scramble too quickly to reformulate sometimes per the latest trend and it's often to their detriment. They lose loyal customers because the product is often inferior, and none of the people looking for products without the "bad" ingredients removed really like it that much, either. Oh, edit to add that I hate when aluminum was made a "bad" ingredient. There is no established link at all between aluminum and breast cancer (even the study that people tend to cite admitted to all of its shortcomings and limited ability to draw conclusions), and anyone who doesn't have severe kidney disease easily clears it from their body the same day it's applied. Not only that, but people who are sensitive to aluminum can apply their antiperspirant at night and then wash it off in the morning and enough aluminum will have been absorbed that it's still effective. And yet suddenly some of my favorite brands just straight up removed it from their formulas lol. They seem to be slowly coming back into popularity now though, so I'm hoping that continues
I learned this the hard way when I bought a Natasha denona mini palette. The fact that they skipped out on quality for a mini, made me never buy a full sized palette.
I’m 53, and I loooove Tarte Shape Tape but I also use the Tarte eye cream which works great with it. I noticed you both (imo) used waaaay too much and you need to blend immediately. Can’t let it set on skin like other concealers. It’s also great for blemishes and dark spots, and bulletproof through Florida summers.

This was fun! These ladies have great energy together! I learn so much from these videos. There are a few mascaras where I like the mini more than the full size. I always wondered if the brushes were coated differently with having less product in the tube. I never knew it could be because they're different formulas!

Face Tape to me was so overrated. Found I could only use it on stage, but even then, I didn't love the way it went on, and it felt dry and cakey.

This was a very good video. Some products like the Kosas foundation and the Mario metallic eyeshadow palette, I never bought because I couldn't figure out if they were hit or miss. Then some products like the shape tape concealer and the Kush mascara, I have tried and did not like them at all, but a couple friends have always said good these two products were. So, I always wondered why they didn't work for me. This video put my mind at ease. LOL first world problems.
I'm a new lover of Loreal Volumnious this year!! I've ONLY been able to wear the defining mascara by Clinique for years because it was the only one I'm not allergic to!! My goal was to find a less expensive mascara that I wasn't allergic to in 2024!! I finally found I an wear Loreal Volumnious Mascara!! It masks my lashes look so much better!! It's simply wonderful!!

I think the hate for Tarte's Shape tape is also over hyped. I'm 43 and while the concealer can look too dry at times, there are times when its just fine. I've learned one thing, specially over the last couple years. How good your concealer looks is also very dependent on the ever changing needs of your eyes, and that can change from day to day. Whether you look more tired on any given day or maybe you dont need as much concealer another day. I alternate between a couple concealers precisely because of that.

The Mario cool neutrals palette is tempting but I have the Tarte bloom palette which is basically similar with all neutral matte shadows. I feel like the Mario would be a repeat. Is there something I’m missing??

As someone who’s highly allergic to the most common makeup preservative (MCI/MI), I was refreshed to see Kosas make a formula containing more natural preservative. I’d love to hear more about the product development process for liquid formulas.

Can one of you guys tell me why my eyes water to certain shimmer eyeshadows and not others? I have allergies and take allergy pills but when I use certain shadows from certain palettes and they all seem to be shimmer shades My right eye will water until I wipe it off…. It’s super discouraging 😅
*spongebob narrator voice* one month later Can you narrow down to any specific colors or brands? Do you get any sort of other reactions? I had to do an elimination diet to see WHAT was setting me off food wise, so maybe try a sort of elimination diet for makeup to narrow down what may be the culprit. My guess is it could be a certain color/pigment, I don’t use liquid eyeshadows anymore because I’ve been irritated more often than not- probably the high alcohol content but I’m happy with my safe makeup lol

I bought Tarte Shape tape in 2017 when it was OVER HYPED but I thought I'd be missing out on something AMAZING if I didn't try it. It is the ONLY CONCEALER I ACTUALLY HATE! I'm not picky with makeup in general. I have a normal skin type and in 2017 I was 36-37 so no wrinkles yet either. I tried working with it different ways for 2 whole days, taking it off, applying less, applying with fingers, sponge, brush, with powder, no powder, baking and not. I returned it on the 3rd day. I wasn't going to be out $27 for absolute junk. Now, I'm 42 and I find I don't even use or NEED concealer. I just blend my foundation under my eyes with the rest of my face. If I need anything else, I use the Catrice pot brightener and that works WONDERS for me. I also spend A LOT LESS on makeup nowadays than I used to in 2016-2019. I'm a Momma now and extra funds go to them not myself. Drugstore makeup all the way for me. Great quality in the last few years, especially and fits into my budget.

I have had quite a few travel size mascara and loved them but when I got the full size I knew it wasn’t the same product because it applied completely different. Good to know why now

Great video! I have to say that for me, I have tried about every mascara out there just because I like to see what there is, but I keep going back to MY OG….Maybelline Long Lash….the green body with the pink top! Can’t help it. It just works the best for me.
Hey Ladies , so i heard about the Kosas concealer mold thing, I asked the Sephora Representative she claimed " Never heard of it " so I bought another that day after tossing the first one out due to mold awareness Never tried their foundation, and now I wont,Tarte shape tape is to heavy and drying for me
Tarte Shape tape was a disappointment for me mostly because of the messy packaging that destroys everything in the makeup bag. I could deal with that full coverage matte formula by blending it instantly, applying small amount and moisturising before it (A LOT). But, the packaging is a no-no for me.

Recently drove an hour to the my nearest full Sephora store (so tired of the mini stores in Kohl’s where I can’t try very many brands or selections from brands). My daughter and I wanted to try Kosas and Tower 28 precisely because they’re supposed to be good for acne prone skin and have olive undertone shades. The Sephora rep told me everyone in the store hates Kosas and they have a lot of product returns because it smells really bad. I was sad because I think their 160 light olive foundation would finally be the right color for me but I was terrified to try it. We ended up each getting a Tower 28 concealer and love those. And yes, Tarte Shape Tape concealer is terrible for mature skin and completely saddened me too!
I like that you’re straight up giving your opinion, without reiterating every 25 seconds, ‘Remember this is just our opinion,’ or, ‘Just because it didn’t work in on me doesn’t mean you won’t love it.’ You know, all the usual bulls- - t.
One of the worst products for me in the last year is the Patrick Ta Major Dimension II (rose tones) palette. I stored it with the rest of my makeup - not hot or cold, no light, all in original packaging in the bottom drawer with the rest of my palettes, which are all FINE - and OLDER! And it molded! PT insists that it’s a wax bloom, but I’m sorry - wax bloom/crystalline is NOT black! Each different metallic is a little different the way the mold or whatever it is presents. I paid an arm and a leg for this palette! So sad that I couldn’t enjoy it. And no reprieve from PT. Criminal!
My absolute favorite mascara is Mary Kay Lash love waterproof. It is doesn’t get gloppy or smudge under my eyes. I’ve used it for as long as I can remember.

I tried Tarte shape tape one time That's all I needed to realize it's pretty horrible and I have oily skin, the Radiant version is nice though, but I'll stick with my ND concealer
Hi ladies I really think skin type and environment matters a great deal to any product. I also think how it’s used makes a difference eg the tarte shape tape is great for blemishes or broken capillaries in a very targeted precise application and that’s on my extremely dry rosacea and eczema prone skin. I would never use it under my eyes😂, but it’s excellent long wear coverage for my broken capillaries. I’m super dry so emollient complexion products look much different on me than most people. The Kosas bb cream (which is also getting terrible reviews 😂) actually looks really nice on my skin formula wise, but it’s really yellow in undertone even in their cooler shades so I didn’t buy it. I had a generous sample however and the formula was nice on my skin feeling really hydrated and soft - not greasy at all. I’m not a fan of no preservatives however and products expiring really quickly ( the clean and natural thing is a scam as everything’s a chemical anyway). I can’t comment on the Mario makeup as I haven’t tried it (it’s not really available here in the UK - I live in Scotland). This was fun however ladies and best wishes x
🫣I love the kosas foundation. One of the few who has a beautiful olive tone and it's cruelty free. Not gonna lie...now I'm so hesitant to use it bc of the rashes you showed. 😯 I have slightly combo skin and this gave me a lovely glow without looking oily.

I've been blessed with good lashes and it was not flattering - clumpy, smudgey, etc. I'd hate to see what it'd do to my recently stubborn part of my right upper lashes! 🙈 Thank you for all of the tips, the reviews and the laughter! I have had quite a few travel size mascara and loved them but when I got the full size I knew it wasn’t the same product because it applied completely different. Good to know why now
You made me laugh! The Kosas foundation looked like a face mask! I loved the rational evaluation of the products and gives light! You guys are so knowledgeable. I hate the Milk Makeup mascara it's so BAD!!!!smodges like if you had watery eyes! Spreads everywhere. You need to wait a while. Awesome! Love you both! 🥰

Great video! I have to say that for me, I have tried about every mascara out there just because I like to see what there is, but I keep going back to MY OG….Maybelline Long Lash….the green body with the pink top! Can’t help it. It just works the best for me.

Kosas concealer mold thing, I asked the Sephora Representative she claimed " Never heard of it " so I bought another that day after tossing the first one out due to mold awareness
Never tried their foundation, and now I wont,Tarte shape tape is to heavy and drying for me
Tarte Shape tape was a disappointment for me mostly because of the messy packaging that destroys everything in the makeup bag. I could deal with that full coverage matte formula by blending it instantly, applying small amount and moisturising before it (A LOT). But, the packaging is a no-no for me.
I have used the Kosas cream blush and cream bronzer and they absolutely begin to smell within a few months.
I like the tarte shape tape but I can only use a very small amount.
What I like is the two of you doing this.........love to listen to you both and Marlena is straight up will tell you the truth..This sucks or it's great..Gabi is fun to watch also..Thanks to you both for doing this video...

I agree with the Mario metallic palette. I experienced that the only brushes that work with the shadows are from Ecotools. Nothing else works

Recently drove an hour to the my nearest full Sephora store (so tired of the mini stores in Kohl’s where I can’t try very many brands or selections from brands). My daughter and I wanted to try Kosas and Tower 28 precisely because they’re supposed to be good for acne prone skin and have olive undertone shades. The Sephora rep told me everyone in the store hates Kosas and they have a lot of product returns because it smells really bad. I was sad because I think their 160 light olive foundation would finally be the right color for me but I was terrified to try it. We ended up each getting a Tower 28 concealer and love those.
And yes, Tarte Shape Tape concealer is terrible for mature skin and completely saddened me too!

One of the worst products for me in the last year is the Patrick Ta Major Dimension II (rose tones) palette. I stored it with the rest of my makeup - not hot or cold, no light, all in original packaging in the bottom drawer with the rest of my palettes, which are all FINE - and OLDER! And it molded! PT insists that it’s a wax bloom, but I’m sorry - wax bloom/crystalline is NOT black! Each different metallic is a little different the way the mold or whatever it is presents. I paid an arm and a leg for this palette! So sad that I couldn’t enjoy it. And no reprieve from PT. Criminal!
My absolute favorite mascara is Mary Kay Lash love waterproof. It is doesn’t get gloppy or smudge under my eyes. I’ve used it for as long as I can remember.

I tried Tarte shape tape one time That's all I needed to realize it's pretty horrible and I have oily skin, the Radiant version is nice though, but I'll stick with my ND concealer

Hi ladies I really think skin type and environment matters a great deal to any product. I also think how it’s used makes a difference eg the tarte shape tape is great for blemishes or broken capillaries in a very targeted precise application and that’s on my extremely dry rosacea and eczema prone skin. I would never use it under my eyes😂, but it’s excellent long wear coverage for my broken capillaries.
I’m super dry so emollient complexion products look much different on me than most people. The Kosas bb cream (which is also getting terrible reviews 😂) actually looks really nice on my skin formula wise, but it’s really yellow in undertone even in their cooler shades so I didn’t buy it. I had a generous sample however and the formula was nice on my skin feeling really hydrated and soft - not greasy at all. I’m not a fan of no preservatives however and products expiring really quickly ( the clean and natural thing is a scam as everything’s a chemical anyway).
I can’t comment on the Mario makeup as I haven’t tried it (it’s not really available here in the UK - I live in Scotland).

🫣I love the kosas foundation. One of the few who has a beautiful olive tone and it's cruelty free. Not gonna lie...now I'm so hesitant to use it bc of the rashes you showed. 😯 I have slightly combo skin and this gave me a lovely glow without looking oily.

My Mario blush has that issue. It doesn't move up or down. I had to put it in a different container to use.
That Kosas foundation is my favorite. I don't wear foundation in the summer, but after watching this video, I feel the need to find something else.
