    The fact that this film is self-funded by the filmmakers, and the risk with their life involved, the Journalist Arshad Sharif, who cost his life for this. Makes it to another level. Kudos to their effort.

      Mi-6 was behind his killing....
      That's what Britain does....They lure people exposing them to one of their colonies in Africa, especially Kenya, then arrest or kill them.

    I'm someone who watched Journalist Arshad Sharif's news program for years. He was my favorite Pakistani journalist.
    I also support former PM Imran Khan for years. He is someone who sacrificed his all for the people. I only hope this documentary is an eye-opener for many who still stay silent under oppression. We need more voices to speak up.
    Currently, another favorite journalist, Imran Riaz, was abducted by the Pakistani agencies/govt and we don't know his whereabouts or condition. Journalist Riaz had all year long raised his voice for colleague Arshad Sharif, including letter writing campaign to the Supreme Court. Now, he, too, is taken from us, the people. When will the whole nation take a stand?

      What did Imran Khan do for Pakistan in the years that he was in power? The same as all others before him. Received and supported the Pakistan Military. Today Pakistan is on its knees. Imran Khan is not different. He’s no visionary, simply spewing the same old religious bunkum while people go hungry.

    As a white South African I truly believed that the release of Nelson Mandela in 1994 would in a decade or two change the legacy of apartheid and colonisation and improve the lives of his fellow black South Africans. When it became clear that this was not happening, and the plight of the 'previously' oppressed was in reality getting worse, it led me seek out information and educate myself why global liberation struggles in previously colonised nations have almost universally failed to uplift the very previously oppressed and exploited people they claimed to have fought for. And the answer is now so clear to me and can directly be traced back to the old and new Western Empires i..e the EU and USA who through their corrupt financial markets, security agencies, media, military might and neo-liberal conomic policies continue to plunder the developing the global south of their resources. As as this insightful documentary exposes, they shield these corrupt politicians from any form of accountability and enable them to hide their obscene wealth. And as other scholars of 20 and 21st politics have exposed, where they cannot corrupt politicians, they simply use their intelligent agencies to smear, unseat or murder them through covert operations. The white Western world should hang their heads in shame at their legacy.

    • @erinmcdonald7781
      @erinmcdonald7781 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed. My interest in this legacy really started when I was young, before I understood the concept of colonialism. I was fortunate to have access to courses and instructors in college, who helped me continue this pursuit. But, for me it seems that the true depth and breadth of this legacy has been illuminated by investigative journalists making the connections and bringing pieces like this to the international forum.
      It angers me to see the complicity of the western governments, UK and US especially, in this bleeding of wealth from less powerful countries and the wholesale interference in their governments and institutions. I naively thought that the days of overthrowing other governments were over. However, this can't be denied. We must do everything we can to get corrupt people out of our governing bodies. Those of us in the US and UK bear extra responsibility in following through with anti-corruption, pro-democracy actions. May we get this right.
      RIP Arshad Sharif, Shireen Abu Akleh, and all the courageous journalists who gave their lives bringing us the truth. 💜

    I am from N.Ireland and I spent a couple of weeks in Baku around 2008/9 working with a voluntary organisation. At that time one of the major mechanisms being used was the division of real estate amongst the elites, i.e. a gov minister would be given an office building where they would let out each floor to their subordinates. The subordinates would then similarly divide up their floor and so on, allowing the flow of bribes and who gets access to be heavily controlled. Another real estate related issue was the use of sub standard building materials. and I would not be surprised if both these things still continued today.

    The same story throughout the world. Corrupt blackmailing those who speak up even going as far as killing them or using their private affairs against them.

    Damn, I was like "wow, who's this Pakistani journalist, seems very thorough and charismatic" (didn't retain the name when he first appeared in the video), then randomly scrolling down the comments I see a lot of "Arshad Sharif 💔". Checked the relevant timestamp and man... RIP Arshad Sharif , searched for the cause of the death and bruh, that's some bullshit SMH.

    that quote suits the UK's tory government (2010 - today) perfectly.
    GBP 700 Billion 'legally' plundered and divvied up between the wealthiest folks in the land in just one fell swoop, under the 'c19' umbrella.

    Money talks and bullshit walks. Another excellent documentary by this filmmaker. Well done to all those who work tirelessly to expose this extremely dark, destructive, and insane system.
    Humanity needs to find the will to help create a way of life that so desperately calls for another way of living; preferably one that is not imposed upon us by the lunatics who have been in control of world history for far too long.
