Guys, I mean these tips are good. But, I don't even understand any of them! As a new player (started 1 week ago), how can I learn the basic basics??? I mean, what are wards???? What items should I buy? What is crowd control?? and many many more questions. (I'm only playing arena right now)
I realize this is a bit old and I hope you got your answers but my biggest tip to you is to take an hour or two and read about every single item you can buy in the store. Becoming familiar with the store will help you understand and utilize everything effectively. I also suggest playing assault to learn random gods, positioning, when to engage and disengage and more. Good luck pal!
I have to disagree with that last one. Some times it is better to quit and start a new game than waste time playing a game you're having a bad time with, particularly if there is toxic players involved. I've had too many games where there was zero chance for a comeback, had zero fun playing, and could not quit because of people purposely making the game longer than it should be.
I don't understand how all this stuff matters when I just get one shot in nearly every engagement. There is literally no time to do any of these things. I'm just substantially failing at mechanics somewhere down the line.
Not that I dont care about gold, but even if I only have 120, I still buy that ward. Wards save lives 100%. No one else ever buys them so I became a support and do it myself lol

I find that when you play support and ask mid and jnglr to ward, they ward. If you play any other role, no one listens lol.
