Warren Buffett just seems like a regular old man just living his life. Not like all of those egoistic billionaires who feel like they are better then everyone else. He's richer then all of them too haha
***** Good point. No I don't. I guess I would like to believe the image that Warren puts out there because most of them put out the opposite image (i.e. Donald Trump and Carl Ichan come to mind, but not many go out of their way to act like Jimmy Stewart from It's a Wonderful Life like Warren does). Is it all an act? Who knows. However, I never heard anything negative from others about him, in fact you hear the opposite about what a great man he is. My hunch is with Warren "What you see is what you get".
You read about how he disown his adopted grand-daughter Nicole Buffett because she talked about him and his money. She got no living expense from Warren.
He is richer than them because they are egoistic billionaires. So while his money compounds, they waste money on yachts and expensive cars (which all devalue).
It's such a crazy thing running into him everywhere. If you live in Omaha you're bound to meet him at least once. He used to frequent a golf course I worked at for a while, he's such a great person.
Yeah, but bad guys should not get any ideas from that, thinking he's an easy target to intercept. His armed guards cost over $400k/year. He's got great security.
To everyone complaining why he doesn't live lavishly that's because it's a part of his investment ideology. You can buy a sports car for $ 100,000, but that will just depreciate over time and get you basically nothing close to the original amount. Use that $ 100,000 to invest and you can double, triple, quatriple it. Then you have $ 300,000 you can again use it to buy some crap that will eventually be worth nada, or convert it to a few million. You don't get rich by throwing money away.
jam626 Most of the people prefer to consume mindlessly and not to worry about financial future, that is why they buy cars and other staff which lose value.
+jam626 He is one of the richest in the world, so why would he hold back at 85 because its not a money investment. He has a net worth of 62 billion dollars, why bother if he spends one million, he is dead soon anyway and what will this money have mattered to him anyway, nothing really, hopefully he give away most of it to charity which I heard somewhere.
Mattis Larsson He is giving away over 90% of his wealth. But its more of a reflection of his philosophy and life style. If you read books on Buffet and his business partner Munger, you will see them regularly stating that they didn't become investors/businessmen so they could buy Ferrari's and hang out with models. They did it to achieve independence, that's it. So even years after, they are still true to their word. I'm sure you would have heard how several millionaires are still unhappy after having everything. Ever wondered why ? Its because materialism doesn't make you happy. Companies advertise how buying a Ferrari is cool, but that just means more $$$$ for Ferrari. So people are just stupid enough to buy into whatever marketing gimick is thrown at them, but Buffet is smarter. He knows throwing away money on nonsense doesn't make one happy. Having a job that you love with good friends and family on the other hand does. Plus its more money for the charities, so if he started throwing away money it would make him a dick. This way we know he is a true legend.
+Mattis Larsson As someone who runs two businesses at the moment (investment/trading, home decor products), and funding a third - my film, let me explain his ideology. Yes, you're right, he's very successful and has a net worth of $62B BUT the habits he has developed through his life have made him successful. Thus, his entire line of thought is every dollar spent on myself cannot be invested. My first business, trading (investing in financial markets) taught me this very quickly. For every dollar I took out of my trading account, I lost money. What if I could have made a 300% return on that dollar? For every dollar I took out, I lost $3; it's about opportunity cost. :) Hope that helps a bit.
Just gotta buy low and sell high. Wait for the next stock market crash, and then buy into several banks and tech companies. Then sit on it for 4-6 years and sell. Rinse, repeat.
I would say, the price is not as important as the quality of the company. Paying a fair price for a good company is better than paying a good price for a fair company.
I find it so funny how one of the richest men in the world is so happy living such a simple life. A great day for him is to walk to work and go and get a burger at MicDonalds and walk home to his house which he has been in for 47 years and bought for $31,000. I think that is why he is so happy.
To an extend, happiness has nothing to do with money. As long as you have basic needs fulfilled and your family & friends are around you and you are loved & respected by them, you will be happy. I still remember when I came to US and I had salary of $6000 saving, I was more happy then.
dbiswas Well said. I was a late starter and didn't start saving until I was in my 30s. I always said to myself when I have a paid off house and half a million saved I will be happy. I'm there now but my family lost their minds and have no close connections and most of my friends fell by the way side. I'm glad I saved and was responsible but without the love of family and friends, happiness is very elusive. Unfortunately, these were just circumstances that fell upon me and it was nothing I did, just the way life turned out. I never put money before people.
stephen geraci Looks like we share the same experience. Don't worry, things will get better for both of us one day. Just to share one more thing, lately I have started living a very minimalistic life, where I consume only what I need and at the end of the day I try to consume less and expect less from people. And that really helped me. In fact I plan to travel to 3rd world country for a trip where I would like to live like common people and try to learn the basic elements of life. Hope that will give me a better perspective.
Nobody would even recognize him. Only investors and seriously bored people on TH-cam even know who he is, and only the most serious ones would recognize him in the wild. Imagine that, being so rich, but being able to pump your own gas without anyone even batting an eye.

The most important thing that should be on everyone's mind currently should be to invest in different sources of income that doesn't depend on the government. Especially with the current economic crisis around the word. This is still a good time to invest in various stocks, Gold, silver and digital currencies.
What's amazing is that the 2 richest men in the world, Buffett and Gates, live very modest lives. With all the stories about the 1% and the concentration of wealth it's great to see an individual like Buffett who's both caring and modest.
To be fair there are a lot of good ones that live like that. You just never hear about them. The CEO and founder of Amazon is the same way. Even Martin Skreli, the evil pharma CEO who everyone hates, auctioned off a punch to his face to benefit a kid with a disease (not sure which one). So there is always some sort of silver lining, this guy and Gates are just mostly silver lining.
'According to 2007 King County public records, the total assessed value of the [Gates] property (land and house) is *$125 million*, and the annual property tax is $991,000. “No email” “Perhaps the secret to his success” Nope, it’s just that CEOs, very important people, can get away with having no email. Imagine if you refused to use email... your boss would be frustrated and rightfully fire you, you couldn’t do so many things... Success allows no email... not the other way around (albeit, being addicted to digital can hamper success).

I salute Warren Buffet sir he is such a billionaire he is so hard working man and he is just as much as excellent billionaires...... So I don't have words . He is just great..... 🙏🙏👍👍
This is one of the reason why I like Mark Cuban better, he has a lot more fun than Warren. But I can't say much cause you never know if under that simple desk there's a secret tunnel to a huge office underground with space ships, yacht, and special addition 1 of a kind Ferrari.
Andrew Armstrong That's true, well at the end of the day being Rich is about doing whatever you want to do while benefiting a big segment of the world along the way.
I dialed the telephone in very early 1980s and I swear Mr Buffett answered. I hung up. I was so scared and surprised. He and Mr. munger were great teachers and mentors.

“No email” “Perhaps the secret to his success”
Nope, it’s just that CEOs, very important people, can get away with having no email. Imagine if you refused to use email... your boss would be frustrated and rightfully fire you, you couldn’t do so many things...
Success allows no email... not the other way around (albeit, being addicted to digital can hamper success).

This is one of the reason why I like Mark Cuban better, he has a lot more fun than Warren. But I can't say much cause you never know if under that simple desk there's a secret tunnel to a huge office underground with space ships, yacht, and special addition 1 of a kind Ferrari.
Andrew Armstrong
That's true, well at the end of the day being Rich is about doing whatever you want to do while benefiting a big segment of the world along the way.
+Bill w Warren Buffett loves his job. Cuban is a showoff. Warren Buffett wants to donate to good causes rather than spend on lavish toys.
Luckily "fun" is relative.
Bill W I like them both, but Warren is on a whole other level of business sense than Mark. You can’t compare the two.
What are the books in his table?
this men will be very interesting who he picks to continue his work
Why have IRRITATING MUSIC? We want to hear what is being said.
I like the music but they should make it null or less when the people spoke.
Awesome guy. I wonder how he stays healthy. I read that he it's a lot of junk food
He has Japan Company Handbook on the desk, woow he was studying Japan companies for near 10 years and made investment at 2021.

I’d give up 5 years of my life if I could pass it along to this guy. I just adore him so much, and he really sets such a good example for all of us

Waren Buffet is almost as humble and modest as Trump. But few more years and he'll get there.
I dialed the telephone in very early 1980s and I swear Mr Buffett answered. I hung up. I was so scared and surprised. He and Mr. munger were great teachers and mentors.
God bless you Warren.
why does he look like the KFC man
Trading Bitcoin is a good business one can think of doing
