Shrek is an ogre not a monster and he lives in a swamp not a lagoon 🤣🤣🤣🤣 but please tell us more, I just live for your interpretation of things…. I just love you all together 🤣🤣🤣🤣
In case you’ve never seen it. Shrek is about an Ogre who’s swamp is suddenly made the refuge of a bunch of fantasy creatures after they were sent there by lord farquadd. Shrek is irritated by the intrusion and makes a deal with Farquadd that if Shrek can bring him princess fiona, farquadd will move the creatures. So Shrek and donkey set off. They rescue Fiona from her tower after donkey woos the dragon the kept her. On their way back Shrek and Fiona fall for each other but everything goes awry at night fall as we discover Fiona is cursed and every night takes the form of an ogre. When donkey finds her in ogre form he is very alarmed and Fiona confides in him about how princesses and ogres simply don’t go together. Shrek overhears their discussion and thinks Fiona is talking negatively about him. Heartbroken and mad he goes by himself during the night to bring farquadd to Fiona. A deal is a deal and he gets his swamp back. Donkey follows and the two soon butt heads over the misunderstanding. It’s comes out that Fiona wasn’t talking about Shrek but her own disgust for herself and Shrek and donkey go to crash the wedding set to take place before sunset. They arrive just in time but Fiona stalls and as the sun sets becomes an ogre again. Lord farquadd is outraged and orders both the ogres to be captured. Shrek and Fiona fight back but can not seem to overpower the guards until donkey calls in backup.( it’s the dragon that’s now madly lusting over him) the dragon eats lord farquard and Shrek and Fiona get married and that’s pretty much it. It ends with a weird cover of I’m a believer performed by all the magical creatures.

I watched it with my dad and niece when it first came out, with my boys when they were little and I watch it with my two year old now. It's a great movie! The tree joke: "Poplar" (pop-lar.....we say "pop-ler" in my area of the US.....vs popular 😁) is a type of tree. There are several varieties of Poplar, some in England (yes, I looked that up lol). One of our most common in the Eastern US is the Tulip Poplar. There are two in my Nan's front yard and there are several in the woods. 😊 The ones in the yard are "shorter" and have lower branches but most in the woods are straight and tall with branches closer to the top.

Tell us you’ve never watched shrek without telling us you never watched shrek. Fiona is literally such a good female character. She’s independent strong and not your conventional pretty princess and the whole moral of the story is actually so touching a realistic. To literally love yourself before you love others
