Scareclaw lore: Pretty anime boy gut punches another pretty anime boy and steals their dogs.
Okay, so doing this because a friend of mine basically showed this on DeviArt and it's been blowing my mind ever since... each of the Level 3 Scareclaw monsters are based on a phobia, each of which is represented in their artwork.
Acroa is the easiest to figure out with the wings and "Acro" portion leading to Acrophobia - the fear of heights.
Astra... well that's a shortening Astraphobia, the fear of thunder and lighting. Know that, and the ball of blue energy on its back quickly makes sense.
Veronea, however, took a little more work.The name will lead you nowhere as is, but it's a placeholder anyhow; Yugipedia's translation of the name says its Romaji is Beronea - almost exactly like Belonephobia,the fear of pins and needles - hence the giant syringes hovering near this hound!
So yeah, the 'Scareclaw' name is both a figurative and literal part of this Archetype's design, Nova. How's that for a revelation?
Makes even more sense now with the English localization of Scareclaw Belone

Judging by the artworks of the Spells and Traps, chronologically, is goes: Forth World = Raiforbia (Stafrost descends), then Alternative (first encounter), then Nova (declaration of battle), and finally Clash (end of the battle).

There is a weird cool story hidden in these cards. Hope we get more on the cards relation to each other and why they seem to be at odds against each other.
I still wonder if the lore of this “new clear world story” is gonna continue after the albaz story line.

Personally, I think a neat tech is Level Limit Area B. Considering how many of the scareclaw things want to have defense position monsters on board, and it doesn't affect your link, it's a nice tech option. I might consider trying Tri-Brigade Scareclaw at some point, given my love of Equimax creating smoldering craters where my opponent's dignity once was when they accidentally summoned Superdimensional Galaxy Destroyer to his zone (true story), and these guys aren't all too different from crusadia, but simply just need more ways to actually get into the link in the first place.

I know I'm late to the party but Alternative is actually incorrect, the graveyard effect is one THOUSAND burn damage for each defense position monster, not one hundred, so it can actually be very dangerous

Personally i see Scareclaw as an Homage to He-Man due to the only Human monsters having influences from Adam and He-Man and the tiger monster pretty much looking like Cringer

If there's one archetype I'd want to see you review, it's Melodious. I've been using them in Master Duel and loving it.
Want to see a review bc I love hearing someone talk about how good or mediocre a card(s) is.
Scareclaws need more main deck monsters, cause they're similar to Burning Abyss monsters. Just have less restrictions. A link 1/2, XYZ or synchro monster would be cool to see.
Because of the lore, for now, each archtype is going to be specific to certain ED monsters.
Scareclaw = Link
Tearlaments = Fusion
Kashtira = XYZ
The next one will be about Synchros.
So from the beginning of Visas lore Ojamas were around (living up to their name).

I'm curious about this new Visas lore's Synchro archetpe ngl, seems neat as hell (especially since its monsters reference each world Visas visited in its artwork, just gotta wait for the translations)
If have getting into YGO from playing duel links to now master duel which introduced me into the actual card game, that has intrigued me to start playing it and I wonder what kind of deck should I begin with? (My favorite kind of decks I've played are Dragunity and prank kids so those are the kind of decks I like 👍)
Would you be willing to do the masked beasts cards? A bit of a childhood favorite of mine, used to have a toy of the fusion of the boss monster
Just found you explain series and I find them very informative. I just got back into YuGiOh do to master duels and love monarchs. I was wondering if you plan to do a monarch explained. I find them fun to play but I feel like I’m not optimizing that well. Either way love the content.

Does anyone have any idea why tri heart can nullify the effect of my summoned monster? after changing to the def position the effect just didn't have an effect?
With all you defense mode monster that you will have, i think scrum froce is a good tech pick. Protecting all your defense mode monsters from battle and effect destructions sound really usefull in this archetype.
Scareclaw Trich Heart already needs an errata/rerelease.
Not because of the card itself, but due to its artwork. It looks like a guy fused with a Cerberus.

It is a good archetype to play , but there is one draw back Albaz strike will negate the summons so how do you play against it

This is going to be in my deck
When I first started using this deck, my friend complained about how broken Trich-Heart is. The only times I really struggled in the duel was when my opponent would have one or two Kaijus handy (as you should) so they would just tribute it away. Even then when it came to my next turn I would usually just summon out another one since technically generic materials are needed for it. It just goes to show how awesome the card is.

Scareclaws give me serious Ritual Beast, Unchained, and Crusadia in playstyle and visually they remind me of Fableds
Been labbing this strategy out all day yesterday, and I wholeheartedly agree that Rescue Cat does the deck so many favors. Another neat Synchro that Starfrost can make is Shenshen if Macro Cosmos roleplay's your thing. I just might try the Crackdown and Mind Control ideas myself, actually!

Obviously I can't give further details but it seems the lore will be something like Visas=stafrost is searching through the universe (or multiverse, who knows) looking for the alternative versions of himself who landed on different worlds and conquered them (or whatever they are doing), we don't know what is Visas=stafrost's real reason to be looking for his variations but one thing is clear: he wants to stop them... by reason or by force #VisasStafrostWillGiveYouEpicHandShakes

On a serious note, great videos. The script is well researched - as a linguist, you had me hooked with the Ghoti/Fish paradox, pun completely intended.
The editing is crisp, fun commentary, amazing storytelling skills that really shine through in the Albaz 'yugimentary', and probably the most important of all for retaining a TH-cam audience is your consistent upload schedule.
Having been away from the game for about two years, your videos really help out in catching up what is new and not having to scroll through pages and pages of YGOrganization, cheers for that!

Am I the only one who doesn't like Visas Starfrost and hates that Scareclaw Reichheart basically loses to that guy. Visas just looks like your standard, boring, anime cool guy who doesn't say anything and thinks no one is worth his time. 🙄He just looks unbearable.
