Watched your setup video b/c in May I bought a new Fretless Fender American Professional II Jazz Bass and it has been such a disappointment. Quits a few factory flaws. Saddles are set as low as possible, strings still too high, rough edges on the nut, just little things. I expected better. Going to put in a shim and re-file the nut, then set it up following your measurements. Thanks
Hello, thank you very much for the video which is very interesting. I wanted to ask you, since here in Italy we "think" in centimeters, when you talk about the height of the string at the 17th fret of 5-6/64ths are you referring to centimeters? Thank you very much. Maurizio
You should remove the pickguard when adjusting the neck. You could chip the pickgard otherwise. Had a brand new american performer.. the guy at long and mcquade didn't bother. Chipped it, told me it was normal, had it fully refunded, made a complaint at their head office.. A week later I guess he was fired.. never saw him again.
Daddario chromes, love those strings lol
Very good video. Thank you for sharing.

Where do you get those feeler gauges?
Zachary, you can get them at a hardware store usually in the automotive section
Can you find those brass measuring tools at a store as well, or do you have to order those?
@@anonymousanonymous7211 hi Marc. I actually made them... I was actually thinking of making and selling them if there was enough interest
@@ManotickGuitarTech ah cool. Those were pretty neat.
I'm a pro at strap removal
