If only kepl1er had Bora, they would have one of the strongest vocal lines of this gen. But even if they did have Bora it would still be hard to compete against both Sejeong and Yeonjung. Rap wise they might be the best group out of the three gg survival shows imo. Dance wise they're pretty good too, despite not having anyone at the same level as Chaeyeon and Chungha, they don't have anyone weak at dancing neither, and most of them are probably at lead dancer level.

For me, Kep1er is like IOI without Sejeong, Yeunjung, and Sohye. They're exacly group of aces, and all arounders, but lack of AMAZING Vocalist like Sejeong and Yeunjung (heck Mnet cant find trainees like them, they're diamond), but Kep1er is very balanced bcs they have no newbie like Sohye.
I'd have to disagree with the dance part. Chungha alone could tear through Kep1er's entire dance line, and that's not even counting Yoojung, Pinky and the rest of IOI's dance line who are great dancers on their own (especially Yoojung)

Yoojung is 100% main dancer material, the only reason she wasn't one in IOI was because she's in the same group as 3rd gen's main dancer aka Chungha (Yoojung is literally the main dancer of Weki Meki). Kyulkyung, Nayoung, and Somi also make up a pretty solid dance line. Kep1er is just full of lead dancers tbh when compared to the main dancers of other produce girlgroups. Can't blame them tho. Out of the 99 girls in the competition, there wasn't really a single one of them who were on Chungha, Chaeyeon or even Go Yujin's level.
I.O.I remain superb sadly their contract only 1year include the show if not they will be more succesfull because after the show they really2 get so many advertising contract and create a buzz in korea the ahow was really succesfull
Individually IOI is the best while Kep1er is the best at group. IOI have members who is really the best at their own specialty like vocal, Sejeong & Yoonjung. Dance, Chungha etc. While in Kep1er everyone is constant, the gap between members in every aspects almost invinsible. Like, vocally everyone is good none of them can’t sing stably at least while dance, maybe not at Chungha level but almost half of the group can be main dancers.

I.O.I had Chungha as best dancer but for a combination of dance line members, Kep1er is better. Kep1er will be the best girl group of this generation, following I.O.I's glory with longer contract. They have more energy and better choreography of the song. I.O.I had "Bang Bang" as the best choreography in Produce 101, but Kep1er has "Fate", "Ice Cream" as one of the best choreographies in Girls Planet 999, and even "Salute" is still on FIRE 🔥 as the best choreography of GP999 though none of Kep1er members had been part of it, but it's still crazy. I.O.I are better in Vocal (of course, they have Yeonjung & Sejeong and the rest of I.O.I member's vocals are no joke), but Kep1er are better in Dance though I.O.I has Chungha but Kep1er have better dance line. Chaewon did show her vocals in prod48 when she was the main vocal of woolim performance, in the vocal evaluation and in the to reach you performance. Kepler does have alot of chaewon level/lead vocal material (chaehyun, yujin, youngeun, mashiro) but none that is of yeunjung, yuri or bora level of main vocalist.

Xiaoting is so stunning! - she can do hip hop & ballroom dance, can sing high note (but not her main core), and rap - love her character as well - visual wise? she has this pure and strong look, amazingly pretty!!!
It is a lil bit out of context, but I think if Mnet and the agency prepared more suit and solid concept for I.O.I, they will was incredibly famous like Wanna One because their talents are no joke, and it will was super hard for Izone to achieve the same achievement. I am glad that Kep1er talents is more like I.O.I in term of group or individually, indicating that they will make bigger impact.

this is an observation but I'm gonna say it, PRODUCE 101 was a catalyst in the growing influence of dance + performance > vocal skill in the Kpop scene (not a bad thing and I'll touch on that soon). Dance had always been important and desired, but especially by Knets, vocal ability has always been the wow factor. Suddenly we get these viral trainees like Chungha and viral stage performances like BANG BANG that were prominent for their dance ability in the Kpop scene and social media from a trainee. Shows were viral and groups were viral for their dance breaks and freestyle ability more than their high notes, and I'd say Produce 101 had some hand in that. And now, comparing KEP1ER and IOI, KEP1ER has nobody that lacks in dance- I'd say everyone could fulfill a main dancer role easily- and while none are as star-quality in dance as say Chungha, I feel with time the members ability to all dance well will mean good choreography and stage performances in the future. I'd say in 4th gen, the main priority is performance. Especially in dance, charisma, stage presence, ending fairy poses, TV and idol personalities, these are all what make groups stand out now. Another thing is the diverse skill set a soloist has, or the diverse skill set spread unevenly in a group, such as an idol (or a couple) who is particularly amazing at dance, or an idol who is exceptional at rap, or a member with a high vocal range, or can produce, or has a really engaging personality with fans, or unique visuals, and a mix of this. Even members who seem to be 'lacking' are loved by fans, because the fans can grow with them and watch them improve. Perfection and professionalism isn't wanted as much anymore, but personal and specialised idols are, and I find that so interesting.

I still can’t grasp the fact Suyeon didn’t make it to the debut team and I know some of the masters think the same too.. her presence was overpowering and has scored killing parts from her peers whom have seen what she’s capable of too. Even tho she didn’t get to debut in Kep1er no doubt she will debut elsewhere. Just wish gp999 considered having a similar concept as NCT bc there were a lot of rlly good candidates to choose from just to debut only 9 of them :/ Its like it doesn’t feel the same without them

Chaewon did show her vocals in prod48 when she was the main vocal of woolim performance, in the vocal evaluation and in the to reach you performance. Kepler does have alot of chaewon level/lead vocal material (chaehyun, yujin, youngeun, mashiro) but none that is of yeunjung, yuri or bora level of main vocalist.

this is an observation but I'm gonna say it, PRODUCE 101 was a catalyst in the growing influence of dance + performance > vocal skill in the Kpop scene (not a bad thing and I'll touch on that soon). Dance had always been important and desired, but especially by Knets, vocal ability has always been the wow factor. Suddenly we get these viral trainees like Chungha and viral stage performances like BANG BANG that were prominent for their dance ability in the Kpop scene and social media from a trainee. Shows were viral and groups were viral for their dance breaks and freestyle ability more than their high notes, and I'd say Produce 101 had some hand in that. And now, comparing KEP1ER and IOI, KEP1ER has nobody that lacks in dance- I'd say everyone could fulfill a main dancer role easily- and while none are as star-quality in dance as say Chungha, I feel with time the members ability to all dance well will mean good choreography and stage performances in the future.
I'd say in 4th gen, the main priority is performance. Especially in dance, charisma, stage presence, ending fairy poses, TV and idol personalities, these are all what make groups stand out now. Another thing is the diverse skill set a soloist has, or the diverse skill set spread unevenly in a group, such as an idol (or a couple) who is particularly amazing at dance, or an idol who is exceptional at rap, or a member with a high vocal range, or can produce, or has a really engaging personality with fans, or unique visuals, and a mix of this. Even members who seem to be 'lacking' are loved by fans, because the fans can grow with them and watch them improve. Perfection and professionalism isn't wanted as much anymore, but personal and specialised idols are, and I find that so interesting.
