When i was a child six years old i can remember seeing the walker brothers on totps. From then on i was hooked. Scott had a unique voice although he liked off the wall songs he could have been a superstar if chosen to record more commercial songs. I still think he's the coolest man of the sixties. Not sure my wife agrees 😊.
It was not what he wanted. Around the time of his 1980s Tilt album, he had found it. And yes, like many other Scott fans, I regret that in the 90s, he sacrificed his unique voice. It was short of a crime
How can anyone be so perfect, face, teeth, voice, body , smile and most of all his singing that needed to go on forever. I wish you hadn’t left us Scott the world has lost the best singer. I love u Arlene ❤ xxxxxxx
Scott's music was way before his time, there will never be another voice like this. Rest sweet man, you've earned a sublime rest. Thank you for the joy you've given us.
This is pretty much perfection, his voice brilliant and sombre as usual, and the backing is perfect for his voice.....such a beautiful, sensitive soul...
Scott was my first love and he remained so till the day he passed away . As a teenager he really touched my soul and I was fortunate to see the Walker Brothers at Newcastle City Hall . I stood right next to him as they were signing autographs at the stage door. He looked so handsome dressed in jeans , a polo neck top and a brown corduroy jacket . He was truly gorgeous. . Im my mind and heart he always will be .
Greetings from New Zealand. One of my favourite songs.I remember this song when I was going to high school.Im now 68 and retired and still one of my favourite songs.
When u c those cute little smiles creeping from the corners of his voice it’s impossible not to smile back at him. Oh to be in that rocking chair sitting on Scott’s lap, I think I would just faint. Love Arlene xxxxxxxxxx ❤
I was so in love with Scott Walker. I had the privilege of seeing him perform live in London. Rest in peace Scott. You will be singing with the Angels and still lifting souls.
Myfanwy rees I was so ln love with scott still am my husband was a good looking guy but scott was so much better always loved him theres no one else ever to be a handsome stunner like scott with the most amazing voice i was born at the right time loooove him xx
@@audreybolton1388 I saw him in Tooting, a town in London. Jimmy Hendrix was the first to perform. I recall him rolling around the stage and playing the guitar with his teeth! Then Englebert Humperdink. He didn’t take off in the UK so many people took his performance time to go to the loo. After the break came “The Walker Brothers”. There was so many pathetic girls screaming that no one could hear them! I so wish I had kept my programme. Take Care.
Like most I first heard Scott with the Walker Brothers. Loved his voice straight away. Just 'discovered' his solo output. Lot's to explore there. This guy was lightyears ahead of many. I can hear his influence on Bowie, Bryan Ferry, Peter Gabriel, Eno, and no doubt countless others. I sure hope people find there way to his music especially the later stuff which is challenging, engaging, and incredibly deep. RIP Scott.
Wonderful voice- another part of my music loving life passed today- love you always dearest man- Thanks for your music, your voice, your beautiful self - finally called 'back home' xxx
6 Dec 2019 Keith Stevenson Notice, Scott's voice is clear, with every word, pronounced clearly. The perfect, smooth voice, full of emotion . Why did Scott have die so young??
Simply the best contemporary singing voice in popular music. What a talent this man was. Couldn’t really handle his popularity at it’s peak and walked away to pursue his own path. I would recommend anyone who loves great music to watch the documentary about Scott, 30th Century Man, what a life and musical journey he went through. A legend RIP.
I love this song and Scott Walker's fabulous voice. Unfortunately, he died and I wish he hadn't so that we could've continued to hear his great voice. In saying that, I can't say that he will be singing with the angels now as someone said below. Angels don't exist and he can't sing now...he's dead. I do love to read the various remarks in these columns but we need to keep it real. Back to Scott............what a great singer, who cannot be replaced.
~ R.I.P. the great Scott Walker, and love also for the Walker Brothers. A great tribute to a great city that's still improving in 2019 in the great state of Ohio. Cheers, DAVEDJ ~
What an all round great performance. Modern songs - even good modern ballads, don't capture such a deep emotion of longing and nostalgia like these sort of songs.
+chris pearman This song was released here in the U.K. as a single and it did well for Scott. I still have.my vinyl copy from all those years ago . It went into the U.K top 10 . I think the video footage could.be taken from the TV series . I he had a few solo TV series here . I never missed one. Love Scott and his amazing voice xx
This is how it should be done. Take heed all you shouty, screechy wanabes off X Factor and the like. This is from nearly 50 years ago and still knocks the spots of many of todays "singers".
What a voice!!! I don't think Scott realised how unique he was. I totally agree with Lindsaypeter Holden's comment. Those that appear on X Factor, The Voice etc. haven't got a clue what it's all about.

Magical. Scott grew up near Cincinnati, so this is a kind of hometown song for him.
Goodbye you beautiful man. A new Icon has just been born.
Scott's music was way before his time, there will never be another voice like this. Rest sweet man, you've earned a sublime rest. Thank you for the joy you've given us.

I saw him solo in Blackburn after the break up of the Walker Brothers, truly sublime.
Newcastle City Hall for me too . Still love their music.
When you look at an ‘old’ person, remember they were swinging in the 1960’s! Groovy 😂
One of the warmest voices in modern musical history - a beautiful song, beautifully sung.
Hi Olga
Fabulous singer and the song so lovely RIP Scott walker 🌹😎
Greetings from New Zealand. One of my favourite songs.I remember this song when I was going to high school.Im now 68 and retired and still one of my favourite songs.
One of the most beautiful voices God ever created!
Beautifully sung by the lovely Scott!
Scott and Matt Monroe, the two greatest singers of their generation, sadly both have left us, but their music lives on.
Quite alike.
My thoughts exactly
Two of the best👍👍

Nicht nur ......ihrer Generation❤
Heutzutage müssen Leute doch gar nicht mehr singen können.😮

My heartthrob from the 60's. He still gives me shivers. And that great voice!

Scott was just so beautifully intense as was his voice. He drew you into the song. I could listen to him for hours on end. So missed.

Just one incredible voice ... totally amazing R.I.P.
My favourite male vocalist ever
Does not have to try too hard to produce perfection.
Luckily touched to your voice by this beautiful song in 1969 in Japan.
And I have started learning English by this song.
R.I.P.
What an all round great performance. Modern songs - even good modern ballads, don't capture such a deep emotion of longing and nostalgia like these sort of songs.
I think Divine Comedy do with 'An English Lady of A Certain Age'. The signing ain't close, the nostalgia and longing are definitely there :)
This should be re released - it's a great song and a magnificent singer - Chris Pearman
