I had one of those back in 1989 I bought used. It was one of the best cars I've ever owned. I wish I still had it as a summer cruiser. They had great stereos for their time, and I have many fond memories of cruising with my friends looking for ladies during the summer, stereo going and sunroof open. I want to get another when my daughter graduates college and I can retire from my current job.
I had a new '84 red prelude - automatic! This brought back memories! Thanks! Only 100hp but it looked cool and handled great with CH51 Continental tires that saved me from a few car accidents.
This is great. I really admire you for taking on this challenge. This Prelude is a good solid example in its originality, and of course a favorite of mine personally. Excited to see where you go with it!
This was my first new car. After I got out of college and had some cash I bought a 1984 Honda Prelude brand new sticker price $11,900. Drove that car for 9 years. Then sold it to my buddy who kept it another 5 years. I loved that car.
My next door neighbor/ friend had one of these. It was 1986 model. She bought it brand new and drove it For 19 years, but then, the engine died and she got a 2000 Toyota Camry to replace it.
Literally just bought my own yesterday. Same exact model! I had an 89 4ws in mint shape basically and ended up selling it 3 years ago and regret it ever since but this one hopefully will do me good! I do auto body myself. Fun stuff.. great video!
OhYeahAboutThat im in FL.. It runs good, im pretty sure just needs a steering rack that im hopefully going to be working on in the next couple days. These things mechanically, are tanks!
Maybe do a list of parts you can't find like the window trim. I don't mind hitting up u-pull near me and checking from time to to time. Would be great to get every part for her back to original. Look forward to seeing this car come back to life
Pete’s Carport thanks! It’s actually the second one I currently own. My white 1989 Si has its own playlist. That one is complete and in excellent condition. I’m not sure this 84 will ever be as nice but it’s going to be fun to try. Thanks for the comments and the sub!
I know you probably want to paint it red....but you should consider that teal/sea foam color that you buddy has in his accura/Honda garage. I think it’d look great on that car and contrasts with the orange interior lights. The style of that car is timeless
I know the teal color you mention. I’m sort of a purest when it comes to keeping the car the original color. Either way, I think paint is quite some time away! Ha ha

I love everything about it. From rags to riches, can't wait to see DD's transformation.
You probably just started a thing with the "DD" comment. Double-D perhaps? :-)

Let’s hope I can get it running! Thanks for the comment!
