What's with all the hateful comments? The guy is one of the greatest rhythm players out there. Think soloing is only thing a guitar is for? Tell that to Malcolm Young and Rick Parfitt. If they were alive, I'm pretty sure they'd tell you where to shove it.
Most of the hate stems from people confirming Rudi is a bad guitarist. While he isn't like his brother, Roth, Jabs or any other lead for that matter, he never wanted to be. He wanted to be the best composer possible, and he achieved that. Most of his songs are the same style/chords throughout the albums yet they are each individually different. His solos are the same as well, nearly all having the same structure and techniques. They are very underwhelming compared to the playing done by the other 3. For comparison Jabs, for the most part, uses the same style and techniques in his solos across a multitude of songs. However he always tries to add flare or different patterns to the same repetitive playing, making each of his solos unique and amazing. What many people don't know is Rudi has pretty close to the same amount of solos as Jabs does (at least from AM-CW). Also Rudi is rhythm player, not a lead. Besides the occasional solo he mostly focuses on composing. Where as again Jabs, doesn't have to spend time writing the song, but working on adding lead to it. Had Rudi wanted to be a lead player from the beginning who knows where he might have gone.
Rudolf is not a Heavy Metal lead guitarist..and I haven't heard any Heavy Metal rhythm guitarist plays as great as him. Very powerful, fast, nasty & tasty.. Not to forget..his Ballad Guitar Solo is very melodic & touching.. Rudolf is not an Ordinary Guitarist..👍👍👍

Rudy has made a very successful living being a rhythm guitarist and a songwriter, there's a place for him in rock history. Nothing wrong with jamming with friends, tipping a few beers, and jumping around the stage like Jack Black. In fact, I hope there's more like this to come! @RudolfSchenker

Some Michael fans seem to forget that Michael has had some terribly embarrassing performances in his career due to alcohol/drugs and these were not party jams but official concerts that people paid to attend.

It's not a secret, Rudolf is a very (VERY !) bad guitar player, absolutely unable to do a solo at more than 5 bpm (just look at every concert, rusted fingers ! ^^) but he's a great composer, and it's perfect for Klaus voice :)
