Unfortunately, most modern scramblers lean a little too much towards the street than off-road and trails, mainly because of the sheer weight of these bikes. A simple oldtimer enduro in scrambler style often has more advantages than a new scrambler that is basically not really designed for off-road driving.
Oddly the TW200 I took my MSF on felt very much like the definition of a scrambler. Also, it’s still carbureted and hasn’t really been updated since 1987.
True but... With lil to no modifications the svartpillen is a great bike to explore, i raised the suspension, ordered a custom exhaust and it rips beyond my capacity for now

I mean to say a bike is “master of none” I kind of feel like that’s just an excuse for people that don’t know how to ride that bike. Like if I get on a sport bike and go to the track and I can say The brakes are too sensitive it’s uncomfortable the throttle is too sensitive and so on and then there could be a guy on the same bike make record lap times and says it’s the best bike I’ve been on. It’s all about skill level and how confident you are on the bike. I've never seen an American channel talk about them, so maybe they aren't available over there, but the Fantic Caballero is a great scrambler. Fun to ride and cheap to buy and run.
I got my scrambler 1200 XE used And it’s been an absolute dream. Heavy? Absolutely. But it handles long rides, and some off-roading with no issues. An incredible bike that’s just so much fun to ride.
Right there with you. I have terrorized some blown up , heavily rutted jeep trails on my Scrambler 1200 xe. I have also ridden 6.5 hours on highways in a single day on the stock seat. It is a giddy smile machine and gets about 12 demonic chortles per gallon. Oh yeah and it is beautiful.
What no Fantic 500 scrambler/rally ? A 150Kg 43hp fun machine with spoked wheels and knobbly tyres. Taller riders can choose the Rally with its long gravel suspension, but if you are shorter and want to do the occasional adventure the standard Scrambler fits the bill. £6300 in the U.K.

As I'm sure Yam has said before (paraphrasing a lot), if you want to do it, do it. If you want a motorcycle that fits a specific aesthetic, buy a motorcycle that's already there and don't over spend on a bike that's not built to do something it's not. Depends. Svart would be a far better performer in terms of power, speed, cornering; but the Himalayan is a great all-rounder that is great for long, easy cruising rides, on pavement or gravel, and has great luggage options.
