A little bit of overanalysis that I did for this song: When Dallas says, 'Little brother, it's time to stay' near the end of this song, it reminded me of a like in Little Brother: 'that's all i've ever done, but nows the time for me to stay' Also there are of course, his references to a train (iykyk) And when he says there ain't no going back, since he also says that again in Little Brother, just with a new meaning behind it then (I'm sure like nobody will find this as interesting as I did but oh well)
Whoever did the mic balance should be in trouble. They all sounded great, but after Dally’s solo you could barely hear the solos over the music. The band is way too loud. They need to turn all their mics up
I can't get over the main character's wig. Even his second/last wig from other photos and vids is too much. It's like Sutton Foster's wigs in off-Broadway's Sweet Charity -- what? Too much. 😆

They did great, but they really could have turned up the mics on the singers a touch. It sounds way better in the theater! Great expectations was probably the best of the three songs they did, but I am partial to that song!
Just curious, you say you weren't gripped by the show but do you think it deserves 12 tony nominations. Would it have gotten it if it wasn't such a diverse cast?
I haven't come across any race discourse in the wild yet, but I just assumed it was probably going on based on the casting choices, which is fucking insane as usual. As someone who lived and breathed everything Outsiders in their teens, including reading and writing fanfction, the casting looks on point. Obviously I haven't seen the musical but one glance at the cast and I could tell who was who just based on how they carried themselves. And anyone crying about race and accuracy would know that the casting wasn't 100% accurate for the movie either.
The outsiders was a fantastic movie. One of my favorites but to make remakes it should be a remake to everything. 1st thing it was all boys with no girls so to throw in a girl and 3 colored people is not doing the remake a real one. I believe it will be fantastic to see and given the chance will see it but seems like another woke moment…. I hope they win lots of awards
Yeah, I get that, ar first I was a little confused how it would go but I think this isn’t supposed to be an exact copy, I believe it’s a bit of a reimagining. Either way even with the changes it’s super good and I think everything fits! I was able to accept Ace/the girl greaser because in the book by S.E Hinton it mentions there being girl greasers too and during some of the scenes she looks like she’s one of their girlfriends as well. I was thinking maybe Two-Bit because the two characters seem pretty cozy with one another at times
Firstly, it is based on the book, not the movie. Secondly, there was a girl (Cherry Valance) and I don't think someone's ethnicity matters as long as it's not relevant to the plot and they deliver a good representation of the character
@@annecyd2589 I agree! I say as long as they have the skills/talent (which all of the cast definitely does) then go for it! Besides, it's really cool to see all of the unique takes on the characters each actor chooses
I can’t believe SE Hinton was okay this. This looks and feels like a story from NY rather than Tulsa, OK. I don’t get it. The music isn’t even authentic to the time. Reminds me when Addams Family was on Bway. Good try but no go.
It is based on a book??? Also, their ethnicity doesn't matter, there were black people back then too, you know. And also, it really isn't that important as long as they give a good performance. Like, it's a musical not a documentary. All they have to do is doing justice to their character
It got tony nominations because of race baiting stunt casting. No other reason. They clicked off all the boxes. This is why the theater has become utter trash. The show will win awards no doubt but those awards no longer mean anything. Just like the other shows that sacrifice art for politics it will flop.
lmao Bye. Theatre has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to politics and diversity, and it always will be. If that triggers you, find another industry to cry over.
Go away. So many other things to get upset about. Get a life. And it makes total sense for Johnny to be Native American. Unless you're talking about Dally being black. Just say you're racist and move on.
If you think this, I urge you to do more research on the show and material itself. The music is beautiful and emotional and this cast is one of the most talented I have ever seen on a broadway stage. Race has absolutely nothing to do with the story or the casting. The entire thing is phenomenal.
Angelina Jolie got a tattoo “stay gold” she really does love this musical
The Outsiders will always stay gold ❤
so im a dancer and i absolutely LOVE this choreography that i just spent basically my whole day learning it. i think i got it down 😎
I love that Ponyboy's shirt is SE Hinton's high school.

Saw the show on Friday and two people in the cast that's in this weren't in the play and they didn't even say in the playbill who were playing them
Who’s the guy behind Sky in the beginning of the video the one on the right side of the car
That’s Jordan Chin! (If it’s who I think you mean) he’s a swing who goes on usually for Renni Anthony as Steve and I believe Two-Bit as well
I don’t think that’s Jordan. When Sky talks and the camera is on him I’m talking about the guy behind him
